I can't believe how bad it is with him. He's all world and everyone else is all dung.

It's unbelievable how they've neglected the Oline! Esp. RT and center, and back-up tackle. Negligence.

Not really. If you listen to Kyle and John's own words over the years, while I wouldn't say they fully neglect it, it's clearly not a priority. Kyle believes he can scheme around it and both feel resources could be better used elsewhere. I think they've proven that after 7 years.

And for those who think they'll go heavy on the OL in next year's draft, I recommend curtailing that expectation quite a bit.

I see football through a lens where I can decipher how both the qb and ol play independent of one another. Neither were good in that game.

I just won't give Brock a pass for 3 of the picks and blame the OL for it. He was inaccurate most of the game. That was independent of the OL.

Glad you finally had a good week though. 9ers loss and injuries. How many times did you orgasm watching that?

Clearly not unless it's at a historical bad level. For Patrick Mahomes. Otherwise there is NO scenario where OL would play a factor in anything.

It was inevitable. This is reality despite a handful of you still dying on that hill year after year. Injuries? Poor pass protection when they can't stay on schedule? This is who they are and have always been no matter the QB.

That's why you need both.

Maybe now you'll finally get it...the light bulb finally comes on. Then again, pride is one of the seven sins so...

No worries though. 90+% of the time they can stay on schedule. That's a LOT of wins. It's pretty rare when a team can get us off schedule. We probably won't have to face a team that can do that again until the Superbowl.

More projection. You assign this to me and everyone else because that's how you feel about OL.

So what team this year comes back from 21 down against Baltimore? How did Detroit look with that elite OL against them when they were down?

It's pretty well grounded in fact now. Countless years of evidence. But if you still can't see it, then you never will. To each his own.

That said, I'll note the theme that is always present when we lose. The whole team s**ts the bed when they can't play on schedule. It's NOT just the QB and OL. You can continue to only look at the QB solely. I'll continue to see the entire picture and common patterns from the domino effect.

Hopefully he's fine, because this season will go to s**t if he's out.

Williams is a great player. He has been hurt every year he has played for the 49ers. They have had NO back up plan for when he is hurt. They have draft no one to be his back up. This could really come back to hurt them in the playoffs. If he is hurt and the O line look like junk in the playoff, that is 100% on Kyle and John.
The biggest failure of John is the OL. Everyone knew it was the biggest weakness but didn't address it as it should have been. Without Trent this is a bottom 5 ranked OL. Crazy.

Do you remember when Trent came over, then we had Mack for the one year. Trent said a star center is the anchor to Kyle's o-line scheme. Calling the proper protections etc.

I think any coach knows you need a great blind side tackle for your QB. But it does seem Kyle knows he needs a better center. He tired to upgrade Brendal, but nothing worked out there last offseason. However, It seems he doesn't prefer to develop young guys there. I think they're largely gone about guard well. And he bucked his own trend when drafting Banks, who's been very good. So there's some hope he will keep it real to himself and keep getting better.

Our starting roster is overall excellent the next few years minus the o line.
3 of the first 4 picks should be best OL available. In fact they need to get in the habit of drafting o line way more. We have 12 picks? Should be 5 o line. 2 run stuffing DT. 2 secondary , 1 te, 1 speed wr. And then a bpa

That volume of o line bodies alone gives us a chance of hitting on one every year.

I think it's funny that everyone on this forum says the same thing every year. We need to draft O linemen. Then the draft rolls around and everyone wants some WR or edge rusher.
BT will have 49ers O line in the 6th tier this week.

Yah if only they had taken Wayna Morris like everyone wanted. Looked great yesterday vs the Raiders.

Probably have Baltimore 1st even though they couldn't run and the 9ers missed a good 4 sacks because Jackson is Jackson.
