You'd think Kyle/Lynch would put more of an emphasis on the OL by now with what happened In the super bowl.

Who knows, maybe one day we'll actually see one of QBs play a full season of snaps without being hurt or constantly smacked around. That's the dream anyway.

He is good enough to be a starter because the league is pretty damn terrible. Baltimore did the same exact thing to a "tier one" OL.

Gonna need a better strategy at everything if they play again.

I can't believe how bad it is with him. He's all world and everyone else is all dung.

It's unbelievable how they've neglected the Oline! Esp. RT and center, and back-up tackle. Negligence.

Not really. If you listen to Kyle and John's own words over the years, while I wouldn't say they fully neglect it, it's clearly not a priority. Kyle believes he can scheme around it and both feel resources could be better used elsewhere. I think they've proven that after 7 years.

And for those who think they'll go heavy on the OL in next year's draft, I recommend curtailing that expectation quite a bit.

I've broken this down before. It goes against their trends but there really isn't much room elsewhere besides O line. Yes we can take a DT, but said player is playing maybe 30% of the snaps at best. Could take another corner. WR- no. RB- God no. TE- no. Edge- if they sign Young no. If they don't, sure. LB- no. Safety- no.

For the first four picks, OL should be 2 of them, with the 1st round pick definitely being OL. And given what we have, if we drafted two guys that were average run blockers and pass protectors, that's automatically an upgrade.

You guys mock real deficiencies with quips. Reality is our C is ok, our RG is a weakness and our RT is certainly not a strength at RT, let alone LT. So 3/5s of our OL is between mediocre and suspect.

Both safeties are suspect and don't have a 2nd outside corner yet that they can depend on. Teams are gonna have flaws. You have to mitigate.

It'll be an OT. That's where the talent is gonna lie this draft.

Got his stuff handed to him, however, that's a mid game transition, in a game that was going sideways
realize, we benched a healthy enough to play BP, in a 2 score 4th qtr game, we had it first and goal at the 2, to make it a one score game.
a lot of the reason for that benching is it was a feeding frenzy on the QB

Believe me, I love your plan if the right guys falls to us! I'm just not going to get my hopes up too high but your logic is sound.

Who are the "right guys"?
It's ignored year after year. The worst unit on the team. Barely any decent with Trent Williams and Aaron Banks. When they both went out injured you saw the result. An absolutely horrific offensive line. I can't believe some of you guys want to get rid of Aaron Banks. Because he is the #2 best offensive linemen and contributes to the only functional side we have. We need to build up this offensive line in the draft early and some free agents too.

We'll find out in a couple/few years. Hey, they found Banks, grabbed Richburg and Williams. They had Staley as the standard. They obviously can ID talent. It's just a matter of using more resources there.

So I'm hopeful they'll pick the right guys this next off season. Everyone on that line needs legit competition at bare minimum.

Yeah, that left side was tier 1 for quite a stretch before the annual health issues kicked in.

I would be trying hard to keep that left side together. Then add potentially to it in the 1st and 2nd round of the draft on the right side. Plus some free agents. We need a much better offensive line overall. But letting Aaron Banks go may be a terrible mistake. Him and Trent Williams are the best we have. We see what it is without them. Just a complete disaster.

People are saying let him go in free agency. Because he's just a Guard and will cost too much money.

That's part of the prob with our construction, we got all our eggs in the TW basket on OL, so it's one injury away from freefalling down the tiers at all times; without TW we avg under 20 ppg. Think about that for a sec, 2 MVP candidates with KS and under 20 ppg. That's pathetic.
