No doubt O-line proving to be weak spot of team through day 3.

Pears is getting whooped

M. Martin showing any progress?

Joe Looney is trash

Brandon Thomas - this guy showing any flashes? I'm not hearing much.

Staley/Boone only good lineman (even though Boone had his struggles yesterday) We really need Kilgore back sooner rather then later.

I'm interested in hearing once the pads go on tonight how each performs? We need the o-line to have a good practice and start making a statement.

dont pass judgement on either line at this point, but you had to know the dl was going to be way beyond our ol.

It is a whole new blocking scheme...I expect growing pains. It is going to take a little time for it to come together. I do worry about RT though. I don't like Pears. Would much rather sign Mathis and kick Boone out to tackle.

Pears was a good RT on 2011 and 2012. His pass protection has always been good on the edge. He has historically lacked the strength to excell in a man/gap scheme. If he starts, that should be a strong hint that zone running will be a dominant influence (or that he was telling the truth about getting stronger here than he has ever been).

if he can just maintain this i will be happy.

That and if Kaep doesn't do retarded ass chit like fades to Sherman.

i think his only crime is that he or the coaches opted to go to crabs in the clutch
this season hinges on the o line, to me that is the biggest question mark of all.
Boone ripping on iupati and AD?

Or is he saying he slimed down

Lol

Think he was just talking about the fact that they have to be slim for the system.

Very encouraging. But wait! This implies Baalke and the coaching staff know what they're doing! That can't be!

OL struggle in non-padded practice. Always. Everywhere.

Not saying they'll be awesome today, as they need to gain a lot of familiarity (in the system and with each other). DL always have the advantage in one-on-one pass rushing drills, so we might not know a lot about this o line for a week or two in team drills, or even until the preseason games (most coaches won't allow their OL to throw cut blocks on teammates, and inside zone runs often depend on cutting).

Kilgore's slow recovery almost demands they will seek to bolster the OL from the outside.

if they like any three of Looney, Martin, Thomas, Tiller and Farrell we should be fine until Kilgore is back.
I say Martin from USC starts at the center position now and early so that we can settle the line and play calling..

Yup. That's why I'm encouraged. The "Looney Sucks" crowd needs to do their homework. He had a couple ugly plays in the same game. One of them was caused by JMart whiffing on a double team. That was enough to get a couple writers and a bunch of fans on his case. I reviewed all of his plays from last year. He was solid. Not awesome, but dependable. With that experience, and war Tomsula described as an impressive offseason, he should be better.

Martin was assignment sound and had good feet and hand placement. His struggles were almost all related to nor being strong enough. He's obviously stronger now.

Brandon Thomas has never been a road - grading run blocker, but he had LT feet coming out in the dtaft. He's a question mark with a lot of talent.

Farrell is young and was decent last year.

I don't know much about Tiller, but he was a PS guy that the staff liked enough to put on the 53 late last year.

I am usually optimistic this early into camp but man o' man what i keep reading about how bad the offensive line is. I am starting to really get worried that this will eventually be our down fall unless management comes up with a plan quick.

So what happens when the pads go on Tomorrow N yet once again the O-Line gets abused by the D-Line?

Does Baalke N company continue to sit back N continue to risk some other team signing Evan Mathis?

We shouldn't waste any more time sign him asap .Then move him to the LG N move back Boone to RG that might stop the eternal bleeding of this horrendous O-line.

Seriously. s**t! If our ol gets abused it will hold back kap and the whole offense and put more stress and time on the defense. Pads will help the ol a bit but not that much

Well the pads were on & for i am hearing from early camp reports from todays padded practice the whole right side of the line got manhandled.

Now what??
