Whole heartily agree.

Yep, agree.

Based on the way he has played the past two years, and his injury clause, the team really could not afford to risk another injury. Overall, he has not truly outplayed Ponder. In which case, if he does not agree, making Ponder the back-up would provide the same level of performance without the risk.

If he really wants to play again and establish himself as starter grade, he would then have the chance to do so.

It is official, Gabbert is the guy. Kaep, take the time to get better.

Agree 100%.

I was comparing some pictures of him from two years ago and he definitely thinner. It is VERY apparent in his upper arms. He looks 10 pounds lighter.

I hope Gabbert plays very well, both for himself and the team, and it gives CK time to recover. If he never gets a chance to start again, at least he will be strong enough to command something better in trade.

This might be the best thing for Kaep. Get a bit healthier, get his nose in the playbook, when not promoting civil rights reform, and maybe, possibly, get rid of those socks--he can protest all he wants, but maybe wear one pig sock with one LAPD sock or something. In all seriousness, Kaep fans should applaud this possibility. If not for this, I am afraid he would be gone.

Shouldn't be to hard to get his nose in there

You and your crazy dreams.
I read this morning that they want (ed) him to restructure the injury guarantee clause in his contract. Call me crazy but I wouldn't be surprised if Kaep was starting by week 3.

It gives us the license to keep that door open should Gabbert falter.

Well, nobody is beating the door down for our HOF benched QB. Maybe he becomes more attractive by the trade deadline. Trade kap, promote driskel or whoever we pick up as a ps QB.

Yes. I think Gabbert will be on the shortest QB leash in history. I think they'll allow mistakes but he's going to have to move the ball and be a play maker. If he plays capt check down he'll be done.
"I talked to (Kaepernick) about it this morning, still coming out of getting himself healthy, 100-percent go. He has been cleared to play but he still knows he's got some work to do. He's not up to his playing weight that he was when he was successful here and he'll continue to work on that." --Chip Kelly

Kaep's gonna pull some more tires. He's going to think that's all he needs to do, is to gain weight to get his starting job back.
Lol "The Myth of Colin Kaepernick's Inability to Play The Quarterback Position"

Cant even scratch Blaine Gabbert who cant play QB.

So you didn't read the article? I thought it was explained really well. And yes, gabbert can't hold Kap's nuts when it comes to balling out.

I have reason to believe he will, mostly due to our brutal schedule.

The article said he was a HOF'er based off one throw into double coverage comparing Keap to all time greats... His rocket arm and accuracy(every once in a while)is no question, his basic ability to play qb is. That's why he's a second stringer. I didn't make the coaches decision to bench him and name Gabbert the starter. A professional head coach did.

It's an evaluation year so nothing wrong with finding out how both play under Kelly's system.
