The article said he was a HOF'er based off one throw into double coverage comparing Keap to all time greats... His rocket arm and accuracy(every once in a while)is no question, his basic ability to play qb is. That's why he's a second stringer. I didn't make the coaches decision to bench him and name Gabbert the starter. A professional head coach did.

I couldn't bring myself to read that article. The homerism was bleeding through the title.

It was a lame article, full of lame excuses and fact twisting which denies actual.play on the field outside of 2012/2013 (rushing).

Kaepernicks "passer rating" (QBR) is tenth among active QB's based on his running in 2012,2013 and even 2014. Not his passing. His QBR is tied with Dalton not because Kaepernick is an above average passer but because he took the NFL by storm (like #7storm took Houston) with his legs.

If Dalton was on this team he would be starting before Kaepernick. Any NFL team would take Dalton over Kap.

A valid fact was Kap couldn't take as many snaps in t/c due to surgeries he had and by default of that and that alone,

ck needs alot of reps in practice. continue put on some muscle and just work on the little things with the actual good coaches we have.

Anyway, Kaepernicks play passing the ball from the pocket has been pathetic. That's why he lost the starting job to Blaine friggin Gabbert.

If he was actually a top 10 QB, as that silly article suggests, he would be starting. The reality here- he's not a top 10 QB and he's not starting.

Chip Kelly wants to win and he thinks Gabberts play offers him the best chance. Kaepernick throwing "OK" for a series vs the Chargers second/third string defense means nothing. Heck, Ponder outplayed Kap in that game. Nor does Kap's 2012/2013 rushing which inflated his QBR. His rushing has also been contained in the redzone. Along with his passing within the 10 yard line. One rushing TD each season since 2014. And his rushing is one reason his pocket game is so far behind. At this point it should not be celebrated because, again, his instinct to run is one thing that stunted his growth in the pocket. The entire reason he was benched. His undeveloped passing.

This is 2016 and Kaepernick has been judged by all of the NFL as lacking from the pocket. If he was actually a top 10 QB he would have been paid on the trade block. Instead he was offered Mark Sanchez money.

Passing in an NFL offense Dalton>Kaepernick and it's not even close. Besides, Kap's QBR has been going down each year since 2012.
