What difference does an OC make here? What exactly will the OCs responsibilities be and how will they differ from our current run game and pass game coordinators responsibilities?

Do we really need an offensive coach to hold the OC title or do we maybe need to simply retooling some of the offensive staff ie letting some go and looking to upgrade from those coaches?

A bunch of fans seem to think we need someone holding that specific coaching title but I am honestly looking to understand why? What does an OC do and or bring that a pass game coordinator and run game coordinator doesn't?
Kyle Shanahan is a good coach.

What we've seen is him mismanage situations in games and lose leads etc.

At some point ALL the great coaches have entrusted their coordinators and have managed the team.

It's his system and can overrule an OC at certain points BUT to sit here and pretend that he is unflawed is dishonest. The point is to win it all no matter how you get there.

I didn't sit here and pretend anything. I'm not the one pretending he knows the answers. I merely asked a question and you are side stepping the question instead of answering it.

There is no shame in saying you don't know if you don't know.

I mean Wilks gets the defense to a Super Bowl and held Mahomes to one gimme TD in regulation and he gets canned. It seems everyone gets the blame but Kyle. 6 points yesterday is impressive though. Not as impressive as keeping Stanford, Puka, Kupp, and K. Williams to 12 points but 6 of offense is good.

And I have nothing to do what the chiefs talk but 52% Redzone is terrible. KC would be blowing teams out if they scored TDs. We on the other hand are the team in the NFCW.

for some shanny can never and will never do wrong, he's the man who makes all the right moves, even trey lance.

YOU not me….YOU brought Reid and his "off the charts" RZ play calling…I didn't bring that up, YOU did.

KC has been dog s**t in the RZ. They CAN'T score TDs. You tell me how that equals to an "off the charts" offense? You can't because it's not. Same s**t last yr compared to our #1 RZ offense

they're avg 1.3 more pts a game this yr. Pretending that's some juggernaut offense full of innovation is a straight up lie and a f**king weak ass argument.

Instead of being a man about it and saying I got it wrong, you're deflecting and looking dumb and ignorant. Cut the s**t and grow up
That guy Always trying to change the subject when caught lol

Dude it's complete chicken s**t behavior. Just admit it and let's all move on. He's arguing about stuff he has only the slightest understanding about and we're all suppose to take it seriously? Give me a break.
Madden FN CURSE.

Not a single person here saying Kyle doesn't hold any blame…that's fake news. He's also not the one dropping passes, missing tackles, making s**t reads and under/over throwing players.

Reports were by the time the SB happened it was Kyle and Nick that were installing the defense not Wilks…acting like he called some amazing game is factually not true. KC hasn't been some amazing offense for a couple yrs. They just have Mahomes who can pull s**t out of his ass when it matters. They have been winning more on their D than anything.

He got fired because the defense underperformed all season. Some people just can't see past the SB like nothing else would apply in an evaluation.

Shanahan (and Lynch) have built this team to be very successful over the years - hopefully, adjustments will be made to get this team over the hump to achieve SB #6.

Would like to see going into next season:

-Hire a seasoned DC with a good track record that can make any necessary tweaks to the D scheme to still fit its current and new personnel.

-TAKE SPECIAL TEAMS VERY SERIOUSLY for a change! It's such an important 3rd Phase of the game - do what it takes to hire a top-notch ST coordinator.

-Make getting a quality veteran Center a priority to anchor this OL (would also like to see them draft a strong C prospect to groom as a long-term fit).

-Spend a high draft pick (or two) on an O-lineman (G or T) that fits this scheme and is super competitive/a dog.

-Do what it takes (draft, FA, trades) to fortify the DL to stop the run and improve the pass rush.

-Make it a priority to WIN IN THE TRENCHES (goes with the three above points...for the OL, might also need to get a new coach).

-Do what it takes to finally get a good TE2 to pair with Kittle.

-Find a better QB2 option.

(There are other areas which are needs/uncertain...Safety, CB, LB, etc...also, wish Shanahan would make some changes like having an OC he could work closely with but also allow him to focus mainly on in-game situational management/strategy - but this most likely won't happen).

Is all this too much to ask?

And nobody picked him up in the offesason even as a consultant. Hell Saleh had a consultant gig within a week of being fired.

Kyle needs to find the right DC. Sorensen ain't it. Wilks wasn't it.
Kyle knows and it was proven again, he runs a ball control O and his success is dependent on a top ten defense.
Good thing is that we are not far away from a top defense little health here and a little FA/ draft there and boom we back.

For all the Sorenson haters imagine we had a healthy Dre all year? This could have been a very formidable unit.

I answered. He has too much juggling to oversee. With game management to calling plays to worrying about a rookie DC. Too much!

He needs an OC. It'll be his system and his overruling power but with a different guy JUST focusing on calling offensive plays in different phases of the game.

Secondary needs to be prioritized too. As does LB. This team has neglected the back 7 far too long and it caught up with them this year.
