Would like to see going into next season:

-Hire a seasoned DC with a good track record that can make any necessary tweaks to the D scheme to still fit its current and new personnel.

-TAKE SPECIAL TEAMS VERY SERIOUSLY for a change! It's such an important 3rd Phase of the game - do what it takes to hire a top-notch ST coordinator.

-Make getting a quality veteran Center a priority to anchor this OL (would also like to see them draft a strong C prospect to groom as a long-term fit).

-Spend a high draft pick (or two) on an O-lineman (G or T) that fits this scheme and is super competitive/a dog.

-Do what it takes (draft, FA, trades) to fortify the DL to stop the run and improve the pass rush.

-Make it a priority to WIN IN THE TRENCHES (goes with the three above points...for the OL, might also need to get a new coach).

-Do what it takes to finally get a good TE2 to pair with Kittle.

-Find a better QB2 option.

(There are other areas which are needs/uncertain...Safety, CB, LB, etc...also, wish Shanahan would make some changes like having an OC he could work closely with but also allow him to focus mainly on in-game situational management/strategy - but this most likely won't happen).

Is all this too much to ask?
A lot to ask for, but focus on OL, DT and TE2 and hope to fill the rest with BPA/FA

Secondary needs to be prioritized too. As does LB. This team has neglected the back 7 far too long and it caught up with them this year.

Agreed. This team already has some excellent D players in place...shoring it up at all three levels can quickly bring it back to a top-level unit.

The secondary has some good young players. You can always use a good free safety or a cover corner but I thunk other needs overshadow them. LBOL first followed by D line and LB. With Aiyuks injury making his return a question mark and Deebo's drop off they could use a good receiver that has some size and abiltiy to fight for the ball.

Ward is gone. Brown doesn't look like he can play consistently. Huf is probably gone. Means ya need a starting corner and free safety. I'm tired of the bargain basement shopping in the secondary. Make it a strength.

If Nick's bro gets cut like I expect he's the answer opposite Nick. DT will be better if you can have better LB play. Anderson Collins Hargrave and Elliott is a solid rotation.

No they need a wr or 2 with damn speed and can create separation. Cowing is the only one with game changing speed

He stays but MUST be made to get an offensive coordinator this off-season. Enough!

What difference does an OC make here? What exactly will the OCs responsibilities be and how will they differ from our current run game and pass game coordinators responsibilities?

Do we really need an offensive coach to hold the OC title or do we maybe need to simply retooling some of the offensive staff ie letting some go and looking to upgrade from those coaches?

A bunch of fans seem to think we need someone holding that specific coaching title but I am honestly looking to understand why? What does an OC do and or bring that a pass game coordinator and run game coordinator doesn't?
Kyle Shanahan is a good coach.

What we've seen is him mismanage situations in games and lose leads etc.

At some point ALL the great coaches have entrusted their coordinators and have managed the team.

It's his system and can overrule an OC at certain points BUT to sit here and pretend that he is unflawed is dishonest. The point is to win it all no matter how you get there.

I didn't sit here and pretend anything. I'm not the one pretending he knows the answers. I merely asked a question and you are side stepping the question instead of answering it.

There is no shame in saying you don't know if you don't know.

You didn't understand?

I answered. He has too much juggling to oversee. With game management to calling plays to worrying about a rookie DC. Too much!

He needs an OC. It'll be his system and his overruling power but with a different guy JUST focusing on calling offensive plays in different phases of the game.

This sounds like every HC who is offensive minded and calls his owns plays. He also brought in a veteran coach in Staley to help Sorenson.

What makes multiple play callers a better option than simply making changes to the current coaching staff and getting some better assistants in place for next season.

We can't just throw s**t st the wall and hope something sticks. Kyle's system in place has gotten us to two SBs already and the film in both of those SB losses showed it wasn't because the coach had too much on his plate.
