Definitely. It seems as if it has come down to blaming the fans or blaming the stadium.
I think there are a lot of factors.

I think a lot of the die hard long time fans got priced out or were upset by the move and SBLs.
I think the poor management of the team since Levis opened has turned a lot of fans sour on the team. They used their success to sell SBLs then fired the only successful coach they have ever had and sent this team to the bottom of the league and they did a poor job of correcting their mistakes.
The stadium itself is not a draw.
The Stadium is a long way from the East and North Bay.
The stadium is poorly positioned and lacks shade. Avaya seemed to avoid the sun problem.
The team sucks and has not been getting better.
nope its just the product on the field

Earthquakes play a lot of night games

You don't think anyone got priced out of games when the team left Candlestick?
You don't think the new stadium is farther from the Outer East Bay and Marin?
You don't think the York's poor management of the team since Levi's opened made any fans mad?

Really?
30$ is not priced out. You don't even know how much tix were the last 3 years at the stick
People drive from all over and from even farther the EB/NB
Yorks been around since early 2k, that didn't stop fans from coming when we started winning

But on the plus side, when the breeze blows just right, you can smell Alviso.

I agree with you in terms of facilities available, bathrooms, and food. But there is still plenty of reasons to hate it. Traffic in Santa Clara. Heat, etc.

The heat issue can easily be fixed, but Jed needs to pony up some money. It's obvious this stadium was more designed to be in Hunters Point, rather than Santa Clara.

Wait, traffic worse at Levi's than it was at Candlestick? Well obviously I can't speak for you, but for me my game commute to/from Levi's MUCH easier/faster than it ever was for the Stick, and Levi's is a good 15 miles FARTHER than Candlestick was.

That very first regular season game on SNF vs Bears was the worst "egress" experience at Levi's that I had, a good part of that due to the fact they didn't have the timing of trains, pedestrian crossings, etc dialed-in yet. But they got it fixed and any game I go to now, I can leave my house around 10:00 and be parked in Green Lot 1 by 11:00, and leaving around 4:30 I'm home by ~5:30...s**t, for the Stick I would usually still be stuck on Carroll trying to get on Third St at 5:30, and that was with being in one of the more distant dirt lots.

$30 per game is $540 and the parking went up another $360 but the real difference is the SBLs.

When did the Stick last look empty all throughout a 49er game?

Dont know how many times this needs to be addressed. #myth

I must have missed it. What was the cost difference between renewing an average seat at Candlestick and buying one the following year at Levis?
Parents of a friend of mine were part of a big group of fans who had been tailgating since the 1970s, they were old retired folks with fixed incomes and none of them could afford to take on an SBL.

Edit:
I think it is one of many factors that has led to empty stands and lots of cheap tickets on the secondary market.
They shed old faithful fans and hope to grow new faithful fans. The same thing will happen with the Warriors in a few years and the same thing happened with the Giants.

I don't know about being priced out, but when I have gone, the demographic has changed drastically to a younger crowd. I don't know if it's due to luxury seats that you don't see them or the older die-hards were from SF and weren't happy with the move down south so didn't buy into the new stadium?

I can only speak for myself. My tickets at Candlestick were $99 a game, and my tickets at Levi's are $95 a game. I was in section 45 (30 yard line) at Candlestick, and am in 412 (50 yard line) at Levi's. So for me, my tickets are actually cheaper at Levi's for what I deem much better seats.

Yes, the SBLs arent cheap. But mine was only $2k, and can be paid back over 10 years (after 2 years, interest starts). And while some people who had lower level seats at the Stick were being told they needed to pay $20k+ for comparable seats, it was THEIR choice to say no. They could have gotten seats they could afford.

Bottom line is, if you were able to afford season tickets at the Stick, you could afford season tickets at Levi's. Period.

A lot of the STHs I knew in our section were in same boat as me (all of us longtime STH): if you didn't buy your "early bird" opportunity for club seats, then you waited to see what your allotment of seats would be at Levi's, which supposedly was going to be "somewhat equivalent" to your old seats. Well, at Candlestick we were upper box (ring below upper res) on 49ers side at about 5-yd line, which I knew we had basically zero chance getting anything close to that since due to club/towers there were so many fewer seats on home (shady) side at Levi's.

I got allotted visitor side end zone section 400-something...SBL wasn't outrageous per se, but not a f**kin chance I was going pay to a few grand per seat SBL to sit there, especially since I knew they would be full sun. Also didn't hurt that a few of my buddies including the one I shared Candlestick tix with bought club seats, so I can go nearly whenever I want. But hardly any of the people I knew from the Stick bought what they were allotted at Levi's, some were older/retired and didn't due strictly to cost, while others were along same lines as me, didn't like seat location.

I just think the ticket prices are too high. My lower box endzone tickets at Candlestick cost my $75 per game. My same tickets at Levi's cost me $125 per game. Think about taking a family of 4 to a game. It will cost you $500 at Levi's and would have only cost $300 at Candlestick. That is a huge price difference.

It was always easy for me to unload tickets at Candlestick for at least face value. This was even during the bad years and against a bad visiting team. Now At Levi's I sell my tickets for a loss if I can't go. They usually re-sell at the Candlestick prices. I know there are a lot of re-sellers at Levi's who try and get face value but can't and then end up not selling. I think if they lowered the prices then at least the resell market will be lower and will get more fans that are able to afford to go to the game.

When you said priced out i meant as of right now the price isn't pricing anyone out if they want to go to a game. and what i meant in the last 3 years at the stick, the prices nearly went up 3x for games and nearly 5x for big games. Some lower level playoff tix were going for nearly a 1k each

All new stadiums raise ticket prices and implement Seat licenses

but people have no issues with these costs if the team is doing good.

Yeah right now per game. Cause a $200 seat is selling for $20 lol

I think when people talk about being priced out it's about all the fans from SF who used to pay $1,000 for a season ticket refused to pay $15,000.

well when you were paying the lowest ticket prices in the league for premium seats, what do you think will happen when a new stadium gets built ?
