Yes, I'm not sure this is even a question. Shaquem was an edge/force player in college. I couldn't any tape of Shaquem playing off-ball LB.

Warner actually has off-ball LB tape doing off-ball LB things that translate to Saleh's defense, ie flow reading, shooting gaps, zone dropping, picking up crossers, etc.

It sounds like Warner is more handy.

THIS

We need Freddy because Reuben has left us short handed at Mike

Hands down

Anyone who would joke about the handicapped should be kept at arm's length. Otherwise you'll get the upper hand. So I'm just going to give you the finger and move on.

Serious answer, I think Warner is different than Shaq. Shaq could be a better pass rusher, but Warner seems to be more versatile in terms of his skill set. Their roles should be different, but they can both be good.

you clearly don't understand how comedy works do you?

But Freddy won't be handed the mike. He'll have to get a handle on the scheme first.

Nah, after mini camp next week Freddy will know the Mike like the back of his hand
I think Warner's experience at SAM in college bodes well for us in terms of flexibility, especially in case of injury. Say Foster doesn't get suspended or he serves a suspension and returns with Malcolm Smith starting at WLB, Warner could potentially fill in at SAM in a pinch, if Pita isn't ready and/or Harold got hurt.

Do you have firsthand knowledge of that?

Unfortunately no, but imo Freddy has the upper hand on Mike right now

Couldn't agree more. I'd go even further to say that he'd make a damn good case to start at SAM if Foster plays MIKE and Smith at WILL week one. Warner would absolutely shut down the flats with coverage responsibility in our cover 3.

We were talking about how Freddy will win the Mike job handily.

Not only is Warner a better LB, he is also more handsome.

It would sure be interesting seeing the speed of those three at the very least on passing downs. Harold is fast (recall he ran a 4.60 at the combine while 247 pounds), but I imagine putting on around 20 pounds cause him to lose some speed and agility, now at 6-3 265. On the flip side, you've got the 6-3 236 pound Warner who is experienced in coverage and showed the explosion and quickness with a 4.64 forty, 38 1/2" vertical, and 6.90 three-cone time (faster than 1st round WR D.J. Moore).

We have a ton of speed at linebacker, that's for sure. I imagine Harold is probably somewhere around a 4.7 guy still after adding all that weight.

Foster - 4.65
Warner - 4.64
Coyle - 4.67
Toomer - 4.53
Smith - 4.44
Pita - 4.67

Just a heads up, Eli Harold said he's 254 last month on the 49ers podcast and doesn't plan to get any bigger.
