Originally posted by :San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan spoke with the media on Monday and provided the following injury updates from Sunday's 26-14 season-opening loss to the Minnesota Vikings.
Marquise Goodwin
Wide receiver Marquise Goodwin suffered a deep thigh bruise.
"He's day-to-day with that," Shanahan said.
Mike Person and Joshua Garnett
Sunday's starter at right guard, Mike Person, suffered a foot sprain. Joshua Garnett took over at right guard after Person's injury and later left the game with what Shanahan reported as a dislocated toe.
"We don't know how long it's going to be," Shanahan said. "The good news was nothing was broken with either of them. No IR or anything but we've got to see how they respond to treatment during the week to kind of have an idea, whether they'd have a chance this week and going forward, whether it will be week-to-week after that.
"We need a few more days to kind of understand that."
Brock Coyle
Linebacker Brock Coyle is in the concussion protocol this week.

49ers working out LBs Erik Walden and Hau'oli Kikaha. Wonder how far away Malcolm Smith is from returning.

It's not so much the volume of injuries as it is multiple injuries to the same position groups. WTH?

so far the most notable injuries we've accumulated are Staley, and Ford. wish we could have a 2019 thread to keep track. but these are key positions with talented players that could hurt us down the line with them being out. we'll see.
