It is necessary to put him on the initial 53 to make him eligible to return during the season (no designated to return stuff anymore, IR is IR until you bring someone back).

Cut trent taylor, hes always injured

This time next week, our 53 man roster will already be set. Now, there's always the numbers games AB always mentions, sneaking vested vets through waivers so you can bring them back to the 53 the next day, and taking guys who you have to put on the initial 53 (so that you can bring them back from IR later) and putting them on IR the next day. But we'll know most of what the final, final roster will be by 1 PM PDT 7 days from today. We'll know for sure after waivers end 9 AM PDT a week from tomorrow.

This seems like he's setting up a trade for Mullens...

D. Moore has played his way onto the 53, especially with Bosa and Ford's injury situations. R. James has to be on the team too, so who gets cut? Hopefully we can net some low draft picks next year instead of just straight cuts...

1. I went with 3 Quarterbacks after the statements made by Kyle Shanahan, which meant I had to go light somewhere, so I chose TE, as Juice can easily play TE in a pinch

2. I went with Jet on IR to start the season this time, while I have Trent Taylor on the 53 still as I don't think his injury is worth of short term IR.

3. Again I don't think the 49ers will cut Celek, as they may not be able to save any cap room due to Celek being on PUP still.

4. I went with Richburg on the 53 as it seems he will be activated off PUP this week.

5. Went with Al-Shaair over Nzeocha and others, younger, faster, and a tackling machine.

The Luck retirement will definitely impact the backup QB market. Things will be pretty fluid heading into Thursday. I think Kyle is playing poker with the QB numbers. He will gladly trade CJ if the offer is right.

I think keeping 3 QB's is a terrible idea if it gets to the point we need to bring in our 3rd string QB we are screwed regardless.

Nice AB but you really think we keep 11 DLs? This is a time I hope we can move someone like Armstead. Same with Beathard. Hypothetically if we moved them both what would you do with their two spots?
