People just need something to b***h and be melodramatic about imo. Even in the NFL thread people were claiming what a great punter the Titans had compared to Wish yet he had one kick inside the 20(15) and the rest were touchbacks.

Mitch goes the torp! 65 yards in the air!

Yep it went from the 15 yard down to the Vikings 20 yard. That is 65 yards. Kicked in a way the receiver miffed it and Mostert recovered. Then we score. Yeah must be a garbage punter.

Go to the Hightower thread and complain about it then

100%. But I only talk to myself in that thread.

That is cause not many people know about football and only see it in two dimensions

Either way, we're lucky it didn't bite us in the ass.

We are lucky he knuckled that punt that caused the fumble

Definitely. His punting is certainly terrific. We were talking about the short kickoffs and subsequent shorter fields we were giving the Vikings as a result.

(9:25 - 1st) M.Wishnowsky kicks 63 yards from SF 35 to MIN 2. A.Abdullah to MIN 21 for 19 yards (R.Mostert).
-omg terrible starting at the 19

M.Wishnowsky punts 37 yards to MIN 13, Center-K.Nelson. M.Sherels MUFFS catch, and recovers at MIN 12. M.Sherels
-no way a punt muffed and downed at the 12

(7:02 - 2nd) M.Wishnowsky kicks 61 yards from SF 35 to MIN 4. A.Abdullah to MIN 43 for 39 yards (J.Ward).
-ok I'll give you this one

(4:49 - 3rd) M.Wishnowsky kicks 66 yards from SF 35 to MIN -1. A.Abdullah to MIN 28 for 29 yards (M.Nzeocha).
-OMG they started at the 28 3 yards

4th & 1 at SF 26(1:05 - 3rd) M.Wishnowsky punts 54 yards to MIN 20, Center-K.Nelson. M.Sherels MUFFS catch, touched at MIN 18, RECOVERED by SF-R.Mostert at MIN 10. R.Mostert to MIN 10 for no gain (M.Sherels).

^ yeah for a while, it was questioned if it was a weak/tired leg on his kickoffs. Clearly, he's being coached to do that crap. Mitch is fine.
Seems to me he needs to get more " hang time " or air, ( and distance of course ),under his kickoffs to allow his teammates some help getting down the field on coverage...

I think kickoffs are harder to get hangtime compared to punting since the ball is in a different angle when kicked.

True, but some other teams kickers manage to do so consistently, ( sorry, I have no examples of who ), we just shouldn't be giving up that much field position on kickoffs. Maybe use a taller Tee.

We're 9th in the league at average starting position after a kickoff starting on average at the 24.5 yard line. It's not fantastic sure, but it's well above average.

Was that the average for this game against the Vikings?

The 30 with one big return.

He's talking about this game. Hightower just needs to have Mitch kick a TB if they have a dangerous or successful returner. And we shouldn't confuse Mitch's job with the coverage units either. Mitch did his job per coaching.
