"It wasn't by design. I think Mitch just missed a few. And on top of that, I think it was pretty windy out, he didn't have the best weather for it. So, when you have those conditions and you're not kicking it as well as you usually do, I think that's what the result was."

Kicking it towards the north end zone more difficult because that's where the wind is usually coming from?

"I believe so."

In a nutshell, it's on Wish. The weather I'm sure makes a difference, but for the most part it's Wish not kicking it well enough.

We need someone else kicking kickoffs. Wishnowsky is always putting our defense in a bad position.

This . Dude was horrible last week. Vikings punter put him to shame.

I stand corrected. Wow. I thought for sure it was a Hightower call, although it didn't make sense with his conservative ways.

It's something to watch for again. It better not cost us.
Lift your bloody game Wish!

Based off of what evidence? Show me one statistical anything that shows he's always putting our defense in bad positions.

You all are just talking out of your butts. Did they have a nice return last week? Sure. Besides that he also pinned them inside the 20 once and another was at the 27. When are these other times?

There was multiple kickoffs last week that they were receiving WELL out of the end zone and returning for good yardage.
Base on https://www.pro-football-reference.com/years/2019/kicking.htm

His kickoff average yards is above average, but touchback % is way below average.

We don't know how aggressive the opponent kick off return tactic is. It is possible the Niners opponent on average are more aggressive in returning kicks. It is also possible that too many of Wishnowsky's kicks are low, so even though per distance is average, but the opponent return team would want to return these kicks.

But we also have stats from football outsider
https://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/teamst/2019

Base on this, the Niners kick off unit is in the middle of the pack.

He kicks the first one into the endzone. Then every other kick is returned.

He struggled kicking into the endzone all season. And the weather isn't an excuse because the opposing team never seems to struggle getting touchbacks

Yeah he did such a good job the game could of been 41-10 instead of 27-10.....

Yeah, fortunately, we have a really good coverage unit so it hasn't killed us but in a tight game where they have an excellent return unit, like the Chiefs, like against the Ravens in our last Superbowl, that's the difference in winning a Superbowl. Hopefully it's not a killer but it is a legit cause for concern esp. in an evening game where the winds pick up in Santa Clara.

He's great on punts though...don't think many are as concerned about that much.
Anyone else waiting for this dude to do a fake punt where he takes the ball, pretends to punt for a step, and then just starts running and running over people rugby style? Feel like that's something the team has had in its backpocket all year waiting for the right time to use it.
kicking is fundamental

I feel it's in the cards.
This dude has been meh his punts are nothing special and his kickoffs barely reach the endzone. For being a 4th rounder he needs to be special.

Ya very disappointing. Like how hard can it be to scout a P properly? Dude doesn't have the leg of somebody worth drafting that high or at all.
