In my opinion you have to go with what got you here.

Sure adjustments can be made but it is way too late in the season to make wholesale changes.
That would be disruptive beyond repair at this stage.

Agree, but some adjustments may have to move Jaiyere Brown into more of blitzing role, and a bit more stunts and dogs from the DLine side on third and longs. I think 49er defense on third and long (in the first half) are playing too much passive vanilla defense vs more of an aggressive defense. But that's just a feeling vs an actual point. In other words, I see more QB pressure (,for whatever reason,) in the 2nd half vs the first half. But I couldn't really point out why.

Agree.

Part of me worries about going to more 5 man fronts.

Mahomes may eat that alive.

I swear Wilks DBs play way too far back and are useless in the run game and give up 3rd/15 for free.

Would like to see just a little more press.

But all of that pales in comparison to the new 9ers trend of half ass shoulder tackles with no arm wraps - when the hell did this start?

There is no reason for Wilks to be 15 yards off the ball against KC. Put 8 in box and take away the middle from Kelce. Let Money and Rice try and beat you.

Might this be a game where Gregory plays a larger role on passing downs than Chase? When Mahomes looks to escape the pocket, Gregory will have a better chance at running down Mahomes.

It should be.
I can see Hargrave and Chase going down to 50-60% of snap percentages played. I can even see Armstead opening up at BIG End on first downs and running situations. I also think Sebastian-Day could see his snaps go up a little to around 10-14 though overall I think Kinlaw and Armstead will be our main DT's on running down and situations. Passing downs it's all Hargrave at DT and where he has one more game to redeem himself and obviously it's a BIG Game! Otherwise his 2023 season is will be considered a disappointing one! For what he was paid for…. His 2023 was not very good, he did have 7 sacks but for he never had that presence and play we were expecting and paying him for. Now he was not by any means a bad player for us and he is a good football player but man in the post season, he has been a huge dud! He's got to come through Sunday!

I also think we will need at least one big play/pressure from Randy Gregory….

Could be. I could be wrong, but it seems to me that when Gregory is in there playing, he is more active than Chase Young on obviously much less PT

Yeah, Chase doesn't seem like he likes to run at all not too confident in Randy but yeah better at running down Homer maybe
Anyone heard anything on if Kalia Davis will be activated?
I must've missed all these games where Gregory looked so much better than Chase. Both guys are underachievers. We really need to find some quality depth and a guy oppposite Bosa

I'm talking next year in that regard.

I genuinely believe our rookie DE would outplay Gregory and possibly CY in certain situations, if given the opportunity.
Games like this is where I miss having Ebukam, a guy who was capable of staying in his rush lane with brute strength and effort while also having the explosive athleticism to fill vacated lanes and run down Mahomes. They really miss his run defense, too.

We will live and die with how well the Defensive Line plays as a unit. If we continue to play like we did in the playoffs, it's gonna be a long day. Mahomes will pick us apart and the KC screen game will take over.

It's time for Grave Digger to redeem himself. AA needs to be ultra aggressive and collapse their OL. Young? Paging Chase Young...are you out there?

Gotta admit, this unit has me very nervous....

I was actually think the same thing with Armstead at Big End.and stuff the middle with Day and Kinlaw.
