Well he's still the third best de on our squad. Not Blair. But hey I'm sure bosa and ford will be healthy ALL year and not need to ever be rotated. Who needs good depth anyway

I mean....I don't disagree with Phoenix. Maybe he thinks Moore is a scrub like Cassius Marsh, and that's fine to me if hes got that opinion. But at the same time, I'd still rather have Marsh playing defensive end over freaking Solly and Armstead who have zero change of direction speed and are playing out of position.

I'm so tired of this team stacking defensive tackles.

I don't think he is even a decent depth piece. He has 1.5 sacks in the past 4 seasons. He has been in and around the league since 2013. People keep talking about his potential but the dude has had years and countless opportunities to show something and he just hasn't.


He is a classic preseason superstar. Just enough talent to tantalize fans with his ability to work 2nd and 3rd stringers but not a guy who can win against frontline NFL linemen.

He'll definitely tear it up in the XFL though.

so if Ford and Bosa are down to injury, you'd rather have Solomon Thomas / Armstead and Blair playing defensive end as a backup? We'd rather have Armstead/Solly playing out of position. Because thats what the Niners are doing. And this is how the roster is constructed....

So now we are looking at sacks as a measurement of success. So why is Thomas constantly in the starting lineup as a Base LEO when we've already established that he can't win versus starting NFL tackles and hes had zero production. Whats the difference between him....or Marsh...or Moore?

My complaint isn't so much that we let released Damontre Moore. But we're still consistently constructing this unbalanced defensive line with too many interior players that are expected to backup our two starting edge rushers that have shown some question marks in their ability to stay healthy.

anyway...it is whatever. I hope Ford and Bosa stay healthy, so this scenario doesn't even happen.

Quality starter level NFL tackles are going to eat Moore's lunch. So really it doesn't matter one way or the other honestly. For what it is worth, I have more faith in Blair as a pass rusher than I did in Moore.
