I'm okay with Shanahan developing this team and that very well may mean jettisoning Saleh. The talent on defense is now there but a lot of familiar issues are still present. Poor awareness, poor tackling, the Bucs were basically running at will late in the game and its hard to argue that he is getting the absolute maximum out of each player. On the other hand, I think Bowles had a Bucs defense with a lot of holes looking pretty damn good, playing well as a unit, always flowing to the ball, attacking and making plays even with the lack of any sort of edge rush.
I hate forums because they are filled with people who can only perform two actions in succession, react and sample. If the sample is not correct, the next reaction is drastic.
It really reminds me of video game intelligence, people who have gotten accustom to exiting and restarting until they reach the perfect progression.

Right. Our team is in the best shape it has been for six years thanks to Shanahan and crew, and some fans already have plans to jettison him right as he brings the team back to prominence. WTF are people thinking? There will be struggles at times as we saw today, but we'll be rolling at the end of the year.

Your point about Saleh is a good one. I found myself wondering again today what Kyle would do if Dan Quinn becomes available at the end of this season...

And Kyle knows it that's why he took 2 and tried to get Odell. People need to lay off Jimmy man. Well don't lay off the man got paid and needs to improve but he's got it. First game guys 1-0. Nothing matters now but the Bengals. Hopefully Coleman is ok and let's see if Jimmy is better next week than this week. This was a huge win for the 49ers especially when your expecting playoffs like I am. Never trust week 1. The trick for the 49ers is to get better as the season goes while still collecting wins. They did that today. Give Jimmy and the WRs until midseason then reevaluate. Hopefully they can piece together wins until then.

This team could have won 45-3 and all the pessimists on this forum (and you are many) would have complained about the color shoe laces KS had in his shoes and called for his replacement. Yes, there are many areas that they need to improve upon but there were more teams who looked rusty than like a fine oiled machine in week one. JG does not have that many starts under his belt and is coming back after a knee injury. Practice is not like game football. The team paid JG a boatload of $ and he may or may not be the long term QB solution but hell he needs at least 6 games to get back in the rhythm and the other 10 to evaluate. Unless he regresses every game and throws more picks than td's and goes 20-30% every week, then he is your QB. As far as the ejection goes, every single player in the NFL were in many meetings that made it known if you lead with the helmet u could be ejected, and the NFL did not say this but we all know it's true, "if the wind off your helmet causes a QB's hair to move we will call that leading with the helmet and eject u." Bottom line don't even look at a QB crossways. Sux, but what can a player do but follow the rules or get ejected now. Kwon was jacked up and wanted to show his old team the mistake they made dissing him,but u have to play smarter and avoid those penalties or u will be watching from the LR. In 5 years it wouldn't surprise me if the NFL puts flags on QB's and have a no tackle,no touch rule. But seriously, this was week 1, it wasn't sharp but as posted by many it is a win and much better than 0-1.

Please for the love of all that is good please don't let this game be fool's gold like 2015 and 2016.

I'm pretty sure we'll win 10+ games barring majory injury issues. We were so close last year to being like 8-8 even with a decimated team. The pass rush is now a strength, we've got a lot of weapons on offense and a solid line.

Yeah, all I know is that we better go WR in the first round of the draft next year.

I'll trade next years first for a chance at Jerry Jeudy, that 1st rounder would be late if things go as it should

Tale of two halves...Niners stunk it up in the 1st half. 2 TD's called back for penalties is unacceptable. Final score should've been at least 45-17. Much better in the 2nd half...ST's and defense rose up. Jimmy tossed a beauty to James for six. Offense has a ways to go, but when they get their act together, this team's going to be a very hard "out".

Ugly win but we will take it. I really wish Jimmy would have gotten at least one of those two TD's to Kittle that were called back . Looking forward to the schedule and watching how our next 3 opponents played, there is a very decent chance the Niners go 4-0 to start the season mostly on the backs of our D and ST.

Still cant believe that Kap didn't understand why wearing another teams hat wasn't ok. SMH.
What a guy. Why did we ever let him go.
Lets trade Jimmy G for a 4th round pick and rehire Kap.
