We received 11 Penalties against us in the Bucs game. Too many in the preseason.

We were called back on two touch downs and lost over 80 yards.

What needs to happen to stop it?

Is it on the coaches or the players?

How much is down to bad calls by the officials?

What is the solution to reduce to a couple a game?
to be honest, I think a few of those calls are just random and depends on the refs...

Eddie D. needs to return as owner & start capping kneecaps

Well, we were 11 for 87 yards and the home team Bucs were 8 for 87 yards. Draw your own conclusions but in my opinion the crew had been ordered to air out those flags to make a point.

I couldnt see several of the holding calls, but I thought the refereeing looked reasonably balanced except for the ejection. If they are going to eject players for leading with the helmet they need to do it to both teams, but they didnt.

The general unevenness of the refereeing means, I think, that one team's penalty yardage tells you nothing by itself. If the Bucs had been, say, 3 for 25 I would be concerned. As it is, lets wait and see how it goes over the next couple of weeks. I did notice that a chunk of the penalties were against rookies like Deebo, and that is all part of the learning process.

How many penalties do you think would be an acceptable average for each game?

5.1 a game was the best in the league last year.

8.2 was the worst. We were at 7.

So 2-3 would be acceptable?

English - it is great to aim for perfection but Christmas is 3 1/2 months away
penalty mess need to be cleaned up
We need to keep the penalties down below 5 today.

The NFL should just bite the bullet and change to flag football. We all know thats where its going anyways. Thats what they truly want. A league where teams score a TD on every drive, nobody ever gets hit hard, and every play is reviewed.
Penalities and sloppy play have been a constant under KS.
