Running Game...

Rythym , how can you expect a rb and o line to build rythym and chemistry if they are rotating every other play ?? A rb use to almost get a whole drive but now it's only 2 plays then it's back to the other rb. This is a very underrated problem that people dont talk about it. In 2016 with Shanny got to the SB with the Falcons. Freeman was the lead back and Coleman was 1B. They would alternate drives.
How can it be fixed?? Get fkn healthy, and catch the damn ball. Pretty easy. Catch the ball and boom you're pass game is alive. Until then teams will stack the box and keep daring us.

It doesn't help when the OC/HC is calling disproportionate number of passes (45) to runs (19)

Well we were behind 16-0 and the running game wasn't working at all. So, do you keep pounding your head against the wall or go around it?

You keep pounding it, eventually their front 7 will start to wear out and give up a big play to our cheetahs
Why? Here's the list of reasons.

1. No Kittle.

And that's really it. Now, how to fix it? Not sure. Possibly add more crackback blocks or reverses and other misdirection.

not down 16-0.....normally you don't shoot for that type of split but when the passing game is getting over 9 yards an attempt and the ground game is under 1.5 the answer is pretty easy. Perhaps if they could have got a larger lead or any substantial lead you could pound the ball. Passing was gonna be the way to win this game especially with the sluggish start to the game.

It's tough to run when they're daring you to pass - they're stacking the box.

Understandable, but keep in mind we also had a sh!t load of penalties and we were facing a lot of 1st, 2nd, 3rd and longs. So we had to pass to get to a manageable 3rd down situation.

PATIENCE is the name of the game, baby !!

Instead of being cute w/our passing attack, Shanny needs to attack the D w/short passing and seam routes.. This should open up the D and will allow us to get back to having a great running game.

It's the old philosophy... D trying to stop the run, then we get them w/short passes... When they play the short passes, then we run..

IT'S THAT SIMPLE!!

GO NINERSSSSS !!!

Didn't they do this in the PIT game? Most of the passes that got deflected that lead to an INT was short-slant to dink and dunk passes? Just trying to remember without going into NFL gamepass.

I'm wondering if spreading the WRs out and more quick hitting screens to WRs and RBs will soften the middle up?

Not worried too much about the rungame honestly, at least long term. I dont think Kittle and Juice have been on the field much since Juice went down. Once Juice came back Kittle got injured.

When they're both healthy teams will pay for stacking the box. And when they stop stacking the runs will open up again. Hell, with Kittle and Juice we can prob still get 3-4 yards rushing against a stacked box.

That's what we used to scream at Greg Roman for doing. Maybe you can do that when you have all your horses but Kyle could see that he had to get points before falling any further behind.
