Gould, Mclaughlin missed the biggest kick of the year, If he hit it we would not be worried so much about dropping to the 5th seed, truly believe Gould would have hit it, and the kick Gould missed before the end of the half was tipped and attempted in horrible conditions..

Mclaughlin also made a clutch FG that forced OT. He has missed one FG all season and his success rate is 87.5%. Gould's success rate is 63.6% this year.
I don't think it matters this year. If it comes down to a FG it's a coin toss with either. But next year, get a new kicker.

I would probably just keep Chase Mcglaughlin at this point. Gould is done. He can't hit over 40 yards anymore. His leg is so weak. He is also scared under pressure. 39 yards on in is Gould. I wouldn't trust him beyond that. Yes Mcglaughlin missed one big kick. There is no doubt. But he hit everything else pretty much and looks much better on long kicks than what I see out of Gould this year.
If you could keep both somehow that would be fine. But we probably don't have the roster room for that. I honestly think Gould is done. Plus he doesn't want to be here. He wants to be in Chicago and really shows in his effort and production. We should keep Chase Mcglaughlin. He can't be worse than what I see out of Gould this year. I mean people want to complain about Mcglaughin and the one miss. But they give a pass to Gould who has had miss after miss after miss this year and contributed to us losing the Ravens game. Why does he get a pass? Plus he can't hit it past 40 yards. I don't get it?

Can't cut Gould because he is protected by his outlandish contract. So, on that basis alone you have to keep him.
But in the short term I don't see why you couldn't let Chase get another week since he's still on the roster. He has a higher % made this year and has a 50-yard FG on his resume this year (unlike Gould).
That said -- I think they cut Chase this week to open up a spot for a DL.

I wonder if dumb Bears fans did the same types of overreacting before Chicago stupidly moved on from him. Only on fan forum can a guy go from "MVP of the offense" to CUT him NEOOOW. Hopefully Robbie gets his head screwed on straight and returns closer to what we had the last two years.

With a very active Robbie Gould thread already, there is no reason to have another thread on the same topic. Let's take further comments there.

...if only the criticism was over one kick.
