It will be interesting to see if JJ Watt plays this week and if he does, if he can actually make an impact. I'd say Kwon has a better chance to be efective because his strong suit will be mostly in coverage.

This years team has the feel of that Patriots team that beat the rams in the superbowl in the early 2000's when Brady came in and took over for Bledsoe. They just some how kept winning through the injuries and we are doing the same thing.

I think that makes it more difficult. He has to tackle in space. Arm will be extended away from the body. Watt, by comparison, will have less of that.

Pass rushing involves more hand fighting and upper body strength imo. LBs hit using their momentum mostly and wrap up with arms.
I'm hoping that Shanny will rest everyone for this whole WEEK !!

We haven't had a rest since STUPID week 3 !!

Yes but, by comparison, pass rushing is more in-line than what is required of Alexander.

Alexander hurt his pec when he made a tackle in space. He'll need to do that many times again.

Yeah, true, I can see it both ways. In Kwons case I would just hope he can play coverage plays mostly and just be in position to prevent throws his way, or at least just slow the play down for help to get there. He's going to have to tackle, but I'd be hoping it would mostly be shoulder hits. He seemed to have a few missed tackles during his play, but damn he was all over the field. I just wouldnt want to see him get hurt even worse coming back so soon. But hey, it IS for a Super Bowl, so who knows, lol.

Given the offseason is looming...

The risk is not on Alexander. It's on the Niners. They need him to play at a very high level.
Kwon doesn't have it in him to play soft, he's like Ruben Foster but not mentally unstable

Thats a great point. Either way, healthy or not, we need to land another LB in this draft to build reliable depth.
If we win next weekend, the wife and I have decided we are going to fly in for the NFC Championship game!!

I love this! Anytime I can see Pete Carroll with that defeated look on his face, I'm happy.

I'd be shocked if he's available for conf. championship game. I can see him being ready for SuperBowl though. Either way - it'll be a huge boost if he is back in either game if we make it there.
Kwon will be back, book it. He was there for mini-camp after tearing his ACL on October 21st. Some people just heal at a quicker pace, Kwon heals at a legendary pace.

Willis Reed moment incoming.
