The cheerleaders can keep using their all-black alternatives tho, I'd be OK with that....

I heard we're still gonna wear the black unis in the near future. We didn't completely get rid of them

Some news: The 49ers will make a push to wear their all-white '94 throwback uniforms in the Super Bowl at Miami. The problem, Richard Sherman tells me, is that the NFL currently won't allow it. The 49ers got an exception to wear these unis Week 17 at Seattle; would like one again

The all-white throwbacks are great, but I also love the red/orange and white throwbacks that we wore in the 1994 Superbowl.
What possible reason does the NFL really have to restrict our uniform choice?

They don't look so well in the mud and the rain. See playoff game against Green Bay in 1996 (that time Willie Brown said that Elvis Grbac was an "embarrassment to humankind")

The shade of red was almost orange (not the usual scarlett) on the 94 throwbacks.

49ers are the road team in the SB, so gotta wear white tops regardless. Hopefully league allows the all-whites as it's what the players want and is really mostly just a difference of pants color.

Make it happen. I would love a #85 '94 throwback with an LIV patch

It was scarlet from 1994-95, a very bright red
'96 they switched to a darker, cardinal red until 2008
2009, when they redesigned to unis based on the classics, the shade of red was more of the pre-1994 medium shaded red
2018 throwbacks they've kept the same shade of red as the normal white jerseys for logistics' sake, except the helmet decals are noticeably a brighter shade of red

I wish they could wear the original 49ers helmets as throwbacks (80s/90s era, a difference in shade of gold), instead of the current ones, but it's not allowed.

It's gonna look weird on TV if the 9ers and Chiefs wear their regular home and road uniforms.
One of the two has to where all white or the Chiefs can wear all read and we wear our road unis.
But I'm hoping soooo bad we get to wear our all whites.
