If he develops and plays well, no one will care or hardly remember we traded up for him.

Well yeah but devils advocate, if he doesn't then everyone sure will. Pettis was traded up for in the 2nd, Aiyuk in the 1st and we also passed up Jeudy and Lamb before that.

GB picked Jordan Love at 26; Aiyuk gone by then of course
I thought it seemed like the 49ers were scared of MIA taking Aiyuk (MIA sitting at #26). Once Aiyuk was taken, MIA traded out of 26. It makes little sense for GB to have their eye on Aiyuk then once Aiyuk was taken, GB decided "forget getting help for Rodgers (Aiyuk), let's just take Rodgers' replacement"
This. All of it is pure speculation anyway, nobody knows, including the 49ers. They said the same with Pettis and I highly highly doubt anyone was taking him in the 2nd. Just call a spade a spade, they wanted their guy and made sure to get him, no need to justify the move to anyone when you're the decision makers
Packers GM actually admitted Pettis was in play for them. They took JJ instead.

The Vikings will if Justin Jefferson is a bust.

Went to look up the article about Packers GM saying Pettis was in play for them and found this brilliance from one of their fans trying to say 49ers fell for them being interested in Pettis.
Wonder how they feel now...
The San Francisco 49ers, however, have the worst front office in the NFL. In early 2017, meddling trust-fund baby owner Jed York scared off good GM candidates like Brian Gutekunst and Elliot Wolf, and wound up settling for the inexperienced John Lynch. His staff was snookered by the Packers' smoke screen on Pettis

Were you happy they traded down a spot to get the value to trade up later in the round for him?
Like almost 70% of 1st round WRs aren't legit. If you think this guy bucks that trend,...then why wouldn't he be worth giving away an extra day 3 pick?

Chris Simms said that he knew for a while that Aiyuk was the guy for Kyle.
They talked a lot about the draft and Kyle even asked Chris if he thought that it would be crazy to take Aiyuk 13.
Simms said that he was less high on Aiyuk than his buddy but that if there was someone to trust on WR evaluation, that was Kyle.
He also said that he had to not talk too much about Aiyuk on his WR ranking and not put him in his mock draft to not screw Kyle.
And apparently they talked a lot about Kinlaw also and both of them thought that he wouldn´t be there at 13.

You realize that every team has a slightly different chart?
Yeah, but this one let's him sound smart questioning the pick.

Never heard of him.
Could have just took ceedee lamb and kept the other picks.
well see but not good draft thus far
kinlaw and aiyuk weren't on sus's big board
Aiyuk is a stupid last name. Won't be good
You seem to be ashamed of your entire name, leaving it off your forum account. Is it no good either?
