Yeah, he is - maybe he holds on to the spot permanently.

Grasu impressed me this week, the entire OL did as a matter of fact, they all played really good. Maybe in 2021, if Richburg is back, it's him and Grasu at C, with a draft pick as the 9th OL(IOL of course).

He played very well IMHO. I don't know his RB or PP splits. I think Bill tried to attack the A gap and that was a problem with pre snap and communication but I'm uncertain if he was given that responsibility given how green he still is.

I'd love to see him keep playing so we can determine if he's more of a get-by-guy, high quality depth player or a rising high level 16 game starter.
^^^ Right now, i want Hronnis in there. Had a whale of a game and if he keeps that up, happy to see Richburg on the bench for once. Hey, Grasu played himself onto starter list last week. He earned this start. Now let's see him match last week's effort. If he does, then we can be happy with Richburg on the bench.
So this guy got benched for Brunskill and Tom Compton played RG?

Skule -
Tomlinson -
Brunskill -
Compton -
McGlinchey -

TBF, MM looked like he had a nice first half. But second half.

Ineffective play?

Kyle claimed because he was blowing A gap pressures on pass protection sets. If Kyle was seriously concerned about A gap pressure, he would have benched Tomlinson who got his QB injured TWICE on A gap pressure 1on1.

The reality is Richjured in done so Kyle's probably using this time to evaluate poor Brunskill at yet, another position change to evaluate him for next years plans. And it gives him a chance to work in Lenny McKivitz at RG too for evaluation.

FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACTS! Jimmy G isn't the biggest question mark on this team. It's by far the O line. Then D line. Then QB.

Many have it backwards. The funny thing is those same fans who believe a QB hides the OL claim the CB's can't be effective without great DL play, particularly ER (pass rush). Go figure. You can have all the skill positions you want...they're rendered useless if your QB is on his back and supremely uncomfortable back there. It's clear to me now, some fans will NEVER get this concept despite the mounds of evidence in the OL thread.

Rodgers had a makeshift line and he did fine. Even with having only one WR who doesn't suck. Admittedly it doesn't help we have an absolutely useless rookie and AA on our DLine but the point stands.

I was about to say, the dude wasn't even touched that game...had all day. We saw him get steamrolled the last 2 times we saw him against our pass rush. Worst performance of his career. Worse than...er...Garoppolo. LOL

What's the common denominator?

I mean it is certainly something to go back to for the "get rid of Jimmy now (or next year) crowd."

Can he improve or should we want him to? Yes.

Would a more mobile QB be a benefit? Of course.

But Rodgers, while no dual threat QB, obviously has had plus mobility in his career and as you said didn't play very well against our pass rush at full strength.

Mahomes in the Super Bowl didn't play very well at all until the 4th quarter. That's the gold standard for QB's today and he is also mobile.

Now the annoying Russell Wilson almost always seems to play well against us. But he has not only mobility and elusiveness but Gary Coleman height. It's not natural for guys to have to get on their hands and knees to sack him.

Okay, exaggeration on the Gary Coleman height. But still...

Are you seriously comparing Rodgers situation to Garoppolo? Every game JG is under the kind of pressure Rodgers was under both times we played him last year, and how good was Rodgers then??? Rodgers got hit ONCE on Thursday.
