trade JV? wtf. We need to keep the guys that are balling and playing hard.

Yeah why do people wanna shop Verret? Remember we have to try and resign Sherman, Mosley AND Kwan this off-season right?

Verrett's injury history and miraculous turn around this year means IMO, he cannot demand a high contract.......even if he gets a pick a game the rest of the way, LOL.

With the shortage of great CBs, someone will take a chance. No doubt

The other side is do we intend to try to keep him?

I think we should reward ourselves with showing the faith and patience with JV. But I'm biast

It's not what he demands but what a team is willing to pay. He might not get a high contract, but that's what could make him in demand. Quality play for a decent price is value all teams are after. Even half of a top corner contract is a decent chunk of change.

With his injury history Verrett may feel like he has to take the best deal he can get with what time his body has left.

I would say Dee Ford.

how is he going to get moved lol?

one person I could see is Jason Varrett

Lol that does not even make sense in an upside down universe

Sherman can go to a contender.

McKinnon can also be shipped.

yes Shanny should have never traded Bredia never
If he signs a big contract wouldn't we get a 3rd or 4th round compensation pick for him? That would be good too

I'm with you on that. He's 29? He's got a few years left for sure. Top players at any position should be held on to if possible. That being said I wish we just had healthy players.

Remind me, what kind of contract did Jimmy Ward get after last year ?

Because we can get something for him right now, versus him walking as a free agent we can't afford ?

This and I really hope we don't resign Sherman. It comes a time when you have to move on from aging older players. Bill Walsh liked to move on from them a year early not a year late. Get value for Sherman, Verrett and possibly Ward ( and his huge salary)
Ward is going nowhere 2021. 2022 is an option, but not next year.

Agree 100% with the Walsh Philosophy

i just worry because he is injury prone. We got enough bum players that are injured and taking up cap space. I guess it is worth the risk, but depends on the price

I feel you but he's hands down our best Cb right now. Are you planning on replacing the entire secondary? What good players do you think we can get that won't cost good money? I don't think JV will break the bank. He needs to be fairly compensated. .
Already dealt Alexander which I think is a good move. I think the 49ers need some new pieces on the O-Line. Trent Williams wont be around in 2021, and they really need a new Center. I'm not impressed with any of the starting O-Line TBH.

With Deebo and Aiyuk being WR1 and WR2, we can get rid of some of the lesser played WR. Pettis, Taylor, and maybe even Bourne can go. Bourne drops way too many passes and who knows if Hurd will ever see a football field again.

Sherman, Soloman Thomas, and Spoon will all go. Need to figure out a way to get rid of Ford, and keep Verret somehow.

I'm assuming at this point they will end up with a top 10 draft pick, so they should get a good piece to plug into for 2021.

I would go full madden mode right now and Trade the following Players:

LT Williams: 3-4th round pick
CB Verrett: 4th round pick
RB Mckinnon: 7th round pick
WR Pettis: send a 7th round to get rid of(JK)
WR Taylor: to Patriots for a 6th rounder

Yes to everyone but Verrett.

Yep. Lockdown corners are hard to find. Keep him, move on from the rest.

At least the off-season and draft will be fun and interesting this year compared to this s**tty season lol

Imagine if Pittsburgh liquidated their assets last year when things weren't looking. Thank you. I needed this laugh.
