So glad this guy is proving the WZ wrong. We're always quick to snap to judgment lol

He didn't sniff the field because he missed all of training camp. He had no chance to win a starting spot because he was injured. Once the season started the only way he was going to see playing time was if Brunskill was injured and that didn't happen. It helps if you have an idea of how pro football works. Brunskill played well enough to keep his job. Shanahan has proven since he has been here that he will not replace a starter with a rookie especially one who wasn't able to compete during training camp.

I guess you can cling to that when he washes out LOL
I guess you can eat a. Crow when he starts.

I guess we'll see. Bookmark this.

(smart money is on complete wash out, but I respect you keeping the faith that every pick was the best eva)

Gotta keep those receipts!!!

If an interior o lineman can push his guy toward the outside, it allows the QB an area he can step up into and creates a passing lane and/or running lane. Essentially keeping the pocket clean.

I liked him a lot only bc of his great pass blocking in college. Now he is showing up in the run game with some nice blocks. Very pleased with our guard play. At this point, Brunskill may be the better option at C bc Brendel is playing bad and is very inconsistent.

Brendel did have a very poor game against CHI. His pass blocking grade was decent in his game against Seattle though. He has given up a pressure rate of 3.1% for the season so far, which is damn good. Hope he keeps it up. In the run game, he needs to work on getting to the second level and make impact blocks. He needs to use his hands and engage on his block more consistently.

I was hoping with Brendels elite athleticism (he measured top 5-10 all time I believe at the combine ) he would be a bit better. Oh well, considering we have a whole new IOL that's not bad at all.
I'm not convinced that we have the best set of OGs in the league...

So far so good. When everyone was ripping on him I always pointed to his pass protection being a plus. Can't anchor well but he is also so damn hard to get around. Looks like we finally found 2 solid guards.
