He had that the whole way.

Just shows that some dont know what they are looking at (much like how people were crapping on him from the start, but thats a different topic). Ambry had him the entire time.

Yea, I can't believe people thought Ambry was beat when all they had to go off of was the TV angle.

If that ball is out in front, our season is done. Look at Thomas bite at the 50 yard line and stutter step on OBJ's little fake move inside then take off over the top.

Thomas needs to get on OBJ's body and force OBJ to the sideline more and not give him all that green. No way Thomas catches up to OBJ if Stafford threw it deeper. He got lucky Bosa forced a poor throw.

Thomas saw the pass the whole way and was able to track the ball immediately after it left Stafford's hand. It seems to me that he knew that throw was underthrown early in the trajectory and that's why he allowed OBJ to go ahead and run down the sideline. Had it been in stride, we'd get to see Thomas' top speed compared to OBJ, but that wasn't the case.

Sure. I think in a footrace OBJ would have won. That's kind of my point. If Thomas just runs straight back as he should have since he had no safety help, he would have been fine and Stafford doesn't even try it. But the little bite gave OBJ just enough to blow by which he would have done easily if the throw was deeper.

I would like to see Thomas get on OBJ's body and take away some room between them and the sideline. Its a bang bang play, no doubt. IMO Bosa made the play here. Good on Thomas to make the int and stay in bounds though.

Yes. OBJ blew by em on that fake.

I am just failing to see "blew by em" in the slightest bit. At no point was OBJ ahead of Ambry until Ambry slowed down to adjust to an underthrown ball. A perfect throw would have been a completion. I have no doubt about that. You cant defend a perfect pass. But Ambry was with him every step of the way.
Yeah, Thomas played the ball. Saw that it was underthrown. That's why you see that separation by OBJ. Ambry was even with Odell until that point. If the ball was thrown correctly, we might see a little push off by OBJ to gain an advantage

Maybe "blew by him" was an exaggeration. My fault.

Lets say OBJ got the separation he needed.

There is no separation until Ambry peels off to play the underthown ball. To say OBJ blew by him

It's like yeah of course OBJ blew by him. He was clueless as to where the ball was. Would you prefer Ambry keep running with OBJ and not get the winning pick?

He had absolutely no separation. Thomas played this perfectly start to finish. What are you watching???
I must have re-watched the Interception at least 50 times by now, and It Sure looks like Ambry played It perfectly. That was pretty Impressive for a rookie to go stride for stride with an experienced receiver like OBJ and come down with the Int. Well done Rook.

That was straight Richard Sherman there. Line up sideways looking back at the QB and start just inside the WR so if he crosses him, he's good and if not, he's already in position to run with him along the sidelines with no false steps...while keeping his eyes on the QB (and ball) the whole time. Adjust to the ball, not the WR. Catch it. End the game in clutch. Textbook.
