That was straight Richard Sherman there. Line up sideways looking back at the QB and start just inside the WR so if he crosses him, he's good and if not, he's already in position to run with him along the sidelines with no false steps...while keeping his eyes on the QB (and ball) the whole time. Afjust to the ball, not the WR. Catch it. End the game in clutch. Textbook.

Just needed the post game press conference where he's flipping out on Beckham and calling himself the best corner in the game

Haha. He might get more opportunities in the future.

Maybe "blew by him" was an exaggeration. My fault.

Lets say OBJ got the separation he needed.

He had absolutely no separation. Thomas played this perfectly start to finish. What are you watching???

I'm watching a guy who got lucky Stafford underthrew that pass. OBJ was going to score if that was on target. He bit on the fake at the 50 and OBJ had a step. Its not much but in the NFL that's open.

I disagree.

Buy let say Stafford threw a perfect pass. Ambry would be in good position to knock the ball down. Even if Ambry allowed a catch, that would not be the end of the world as long as he tacked OBJ or pushed him out of bounds.

We can only hope for excellent coverage. And yes a perfect pass and great catch can beat an excellent coverage.

All good. We can agree to disagree.

I think OBJ gains more ground if the pass is over the top since Thomas bit on the move at the 50. I don't see Thomas catching up.

That was a td if Stafford gets that out there 50 with some air. Ambry had good position but he was beat at the interception point. It was over if the ball was laid out far enough. OBJ made no effort to come back to it. Great play by Ambry though.

You think OBJ would gain more ground to the point Ambry won't even be in position to make the tackle? Really??

On the pick, I think that throw was supposed to be a PI bait that expected OBJ to come back for the ball. For whatever reason, they didnt execute it well and Ambry had his eyes on the ball all the way. OBJ didn't attempt to come back to the ball, for whatever reason.
Jimmie Ward on Thomas after the game:

"I'm calling it. He's gonna be a superstar."

Hope he's right!

Watch it again. Thomas has 4.37 speed. I thought something similar at first till you realize he immediately let up the second the ball was in the air and keyed in that it was underthrown before OBJ even did. You are saying it was luck and OBJ had a step when AT was literally watching the ball in the air.

Ambry had good position and was running with OBJ, 4.37 vs 4.31 if we want to try and quantify speed. It was gonna need to be a perfect ball for OBJ not to get trailed out of bounds (ala Sherman), anything other than that was going to at least be a pass break up. Wasn't a perfect ball and AT made the play, give the guy some credit. The play got made, would of could of should of's doesnt apply to football, you could do that on almost every play in a game... it is or it isnt.
