Jimmy G has more air yards/attempt than Dak

they dont really air it out deep

That is an insanely surprising stat

OK, it's now Tuesday... let's slow it down on this TOPIC...

Slow down on hyping up this kid before his head swells..

The last time our young CB made a winning INT against the Rams was Rashard " The Thief of Laptops " Robinson... then everyone here made him the NEXT great cover corner ... next thing you know, the guy walked around the pre-season like he's stablished.. even tried to be Toast Witherspoon's big BURNT brother..

the kid believed in the hype so much that he thought he can cover any WRs in the league after 1 season..

Yeah because a few dudes on a random fan forum stroking to the rookie's play are going to inflate his ego.

Maybe you weren't around when Samurai Mike told Vernon Davis that he'll be the BEST.... and Rashard as the " next " cover guy... or even Spoon after 3 solid games..

I like Ambry, heck, he was in my mock draft... but I hope this INT would not make him think he already arrived.

Exactly. Kyle fired a friendly shot across his bow with the comment about how after he started off so poorly he couldn't imagine him improving this much. The coaching staff will make sure he knows he has to keep working.

This x 1000

A great CB in FA or through a trade is our #1 priority by far. We better not screw this up, even if Thomas looks great and Moseley looks good. One of both could get injured and miss some time yet again. Like every year.

Let's not forget we have to go against great qbs and even greater wrs

we arent drafting anyone as good as Verrett you would need a top 15 pick for that to be a possibility sp a trade would be the way to do that and we dont have the capital for that

I think we should resign all our CBs

Verrett Moseley Thomas on boundary then Williams and Lenoir in slot is very good

Then i think you get a veteran CB in FA like a kevin king or joe haden

I concur wholeheartedly
Thomas Island, I called it a few weeks ago.

Totally. We ignore the TD Thomas gave up because of his clutch play at the end so don't stop stacking talent at CB and high quality talent. This back 7 can't defend anybody on 3rd downs. And they're horrendous at generating and getting TO's esp. at S.

I get the exact same feeling with them on a long pass (or any 3rd down pass) as I do with Jimmy throwing deep.

Im not worried about that he wasn't beat that was a mismatch. Thomas doesn't have the upperbody strength to deal with athletics TE it is what it tis and considering hes a rookie that's to be expected

Also we are right in the middle of league in 3rd down conversion allowed %. Im betting its a lot better at the end of the year than the beginning too. I agree we need to do a better job at creating TO but im now willing to move on from our S they are just too good at what they do

In all fairness the TD he gave up he had pretty good coverage and that was a perfect pass. We need a ball hawking safety bad.

He's had good coverage on most TD's (or bombs) he's given up whether WR or TE (whether called back by penalty or not). Making a play on the ball, is the issue...unlike his textbook INT to seal the win.

PFF has him versus Ceedee Lamb as the 2nd worst playoff match up regarding wr's/cb's. young man will be tested a lot this weekend

Lamb is playing outside? I thought he played more inside (sorry, don't pay attention to the Boys much).

He's played outside once Gallup went down and they put some guy named Cedrick Wilson in the slot.

I like thomas against cooper and EMan against Lamb if they are the outside guys

Thomas is good in coverage but gets outmuscled and CeeDee looks pretty strong
