After watching this, I have no trust in Shanahan and ryans. This is depressing.

Well, I took a look at a bunch of things - I wanted to touch on a number of the close call throws but got bogged down - sorry. In all, I was covering 23 plays so it just became too much to add anything more on this week. Sorry it got out so late, I didn't get the film until real late on Tuesday night then worked 12 hours on Wednesday. It's after 10:30 PM where I'm at so I don't have much energy to put in to a better write-up.
Good stuff jd. What do you think of SF wanting to bunch things up with their formations and prefer that GB pack the box? I saw a few instances of 13 personnel to give a heavy run look.
Watching it live I thought Ryans was way too soft on that final catch by Adams but that was a blown coverage. That play presnap looked like a few 49ers were confused. Should have called a timeout.
The interior OLine struggled in the run game and may be facing a bunch of different fronts set out to stop their wide zone. Defenses have come up with ways to combat Kyle's run scheme and GB showed their version. I thought Sermon looked better than his box score. Some plays there was a GB DL in the backfield to meet him after handoff.
I saw two instances where it looked like GB safeties were cheating up to cover the shallow middle of the field. One was on that Mesh concept you showed that they smothered. If those were Cover2 safeties then SF needs to burn them in the passing game. There was another 3rd down I saw this happen.
When Jimmy is able to survey the field he can really execute versus zone coverage. I thought the 49ers were doing GB a favor every time they ran orbit motion on a pass play. On a running play, I get moving an edge defender with that jet/orbit motion. But on a pass play the player running the motion is essentially taken out of the pass play as he drifts off harmlessly into the flat. I saw Kittle doing it. Get him out on a route! He also helped McG pass block. Use the FB for that.
Tough game. Losing by a small margin makes it seem like any single insignificant change in the game and the outcome could have been different.
Yea, lots to dive in to there so I'll probably bite off a couple chunks in a couple responses.
As for the jet motion, it's a thing where when it works, it's great, when it doesn't, you look like a fool. Our run game really popped open from one of those m, when we finally got some yards.
If you go back and watch, I think it's the 3rd quarter we run a little bubble screen to Deebo off that jet motion, get like 11 yards. The next plays we run inside zone with that jet motion and GB's LB flies out on it(it was the big guy with dreadlocks and a rubber band on his arm, don't know his name). The first bubble screen we got the #'s, 2 blockers on 2 defenders and Deebi rolled. So he flew out on it next play, opened up a big cutback lane for Sermon for his biggest run of the day.
So, it's hard to just take out cause it opens up more for the offense in the run game, but I agree, makes you take a good receiver out of the passing pattern.

Well, to Shanny's credit, when someone has his # in a game, he doesn't let it happen twice.

I mean, we'll see. I think my reputation is already set in stone with some folks.
Who gives AF jonny, there's a whole lot more here that loves your work and appreciates what you do for us than don't. Not everyone will agree on everything, including me, but personally that's one of the main reasons I come here so much to discuss/debate/fight/etc.. with guys that love football and this team as much as I do! Thanks as always brother 🤙🏾
Right in, brother! (In my best Hollywood Hogan voice)
Yes, I said Hollywood Hogan. Cause I was 13 when the NWO was the coolest thing in the world.

So his in game adjustments have been effective?
are teams coming in knowing his game plan? Is this a part of the reason the niners come out flat? It's a far cry from Walshs scripted 15 plays that almost always ended up with a td.

Well, the slow start week 2 had a lot to do with no RB's and Jimmy missed a couple throws. This week, no RB's and good game plan by GB, and we botched a 3rd and 1.

the best way to explain the Green Bay game is that our coaching staff did not prepare the team until in the 2nd half..

It's seemed like this for the past 2 games. Offense asleep, out of sync, unprepared for the first half.

1. The Oline got exposed. Mack is old and weak and will keep getting bullied.
2. Matt LeFluer out-coached Kyle.
3. Jimmy took what the D gave him.
4. Meco knew that GB would try to neutralize the pass rush with quick passes so he countered with press alignment. Too bad the DBs sucked at press.
5. Injuries on Defense may tank another season. If Norman didn't get hurt, we win this game due to no rookie brain farts. Lenoir had safety help up top, why in the hell is he bailing on the final play? Norman would have known what to do there.

You really don't know what a team is doing until you have a good sample of plays. It takes time for the coaches to come up with a good counter punch and half time is usually a good time to sit down with everyone and say, "Hey guys, this is what they're doing and what we need to do to counter." It's hard to make huge changes in the heat of battle.

Kyle's voice says that he knows this season is prob effed. He doesn't have a veteran like Rodgers who can throw 45 yard sideline rockets flat footed, in .70 seconds. Rodgers is the greatest thrower ever.
