What will Jimmy's trade value be in the offseason?

I've been going through Colts forums to get their take on who they want and will get. AS the threads started, lots of debate on whether or not they want Jimmy, Matt Ryan, Mariota, Winston or Mayfield. Last few days it's been mainly focused on Mayfield. Ryan dropped off of their radar when Watson went to Cleveland, Jimmy just because there is no longer any chatter about him. They now see their chives as Mayfield, Winston or Mariota.

I do love having a FO with zero leaks but f**k it's maddening. As long as this has gone on now, I don't expect to get anything in this years draft.

I'm not, either.

He's not as bad as people say here. Trey Lance isn't ready. We may even bring him back.

You have no freaking clue if Lance is ready…dude also has 6 months to be "ready" my god stop with the subjective b******t.
I have pointed out about Jimmy being limited and being caught up with by playoff defenses especially come time for the last couple of rounds

BUT

Theres a whole lotta football one must play and play well just to get into the playoffs and that's where Jimmy has played well and where at least 12 to 15 other starters in this league have not been to do so

We are right to come down on Jimmy about his playoff stats yet he's in the playoffs and yes he did have to contribute in us getting there so we have to acknowledge that he is good enough to lead this team to the playoffs and compete once we get there

We have had other QBs and they could not win but Jimmy did and we know what that looks like and it was not a fluke. I maintain that Jimmy is very good in the regular season but just not elite as we need him to be come playoff time

As good as Shanahan is it ain't all him because when he did not shave Jimmy he did not win with those other QBs. Jimmy did contribute to those wins which is why he has been paid accordingly. He just couldn't stay healthy and he did make ridiculous errors at some crucial times

I think our best chance to trade Jimmy is the Texans. Their GM knows Jimmy from NE and they maybe looking to add a vet to start until Mills is ready.

PPlenty of time to see if we should deal Jimmy or not

That is why nobody signed him. He SUCKS in the playoffs when the defenses are better and key in on his weaknesses.

Just saying...

Sorry but what a short minded take.

Compare to Stafford? Take out last years run and what were those numbers? He had one good playoff run on a highly stacked team and his deal he just got.

You can't just compare playoffs.
Lol at that article.

2 2nd rounders on offer but holding out for more.

Yeah, I'm with everyone else - not buying it.

That's pretty outrageous if true - really doubt it.

So, actual play is trumped by virtue of the team making the SB or going deep into playoffs ? Am I reading it correctly ?
How come only the QB position gets this luxury of a team effort win? Why not a kicker, a center, a corner back ? Maybe offensive lineman ? Especially in a game where your QB throws less than 10 times ?

Even then, this game can be played too.
Rex Grossman made the Super Bowl. So was he really that bad ?

Yes after that Superbowl he had an 8-16 record with 29 TDs and 34 INTs.

Ya it's not because the team got worse, Rex was the reason that defense was so great that year.

A reread of the last 5 days shouts "Paciencia"…We are a group of 9er fans who all want something done yesterday, and who refuse to be patient.

In very simple terms, why on earth is there such need for doing something…anything….now? Jimmy is probably 12-16 weeks from throwing for an interested team.. Any team that wants him would be more than foolish to trade for him before knowing how he throws post op.

What on earth is so difficult about that to understand? If we changed places with the team that is interested, we'd be doing the same thing…due diligence.

And Jimmy didn't screw us with his surgery date. It was ALWAYs needed and no team would have taken him until knowing results of post op result.

Please, just hurry up and WAIT, and Jimmy's next home will be revealed. But right now everyone, like it or not, just has to wait. Nobody buys a wounded horse, you wait for it to heal up….and then see how it runs. That's where we are with JG, and whoever is interested, needs to be sure he can make all the throws…or at least , a majority of them.

My 2 cents is that this is all due to medical considerations and nothing more than that. The discussion with Colts could very well have happened tho NO ONE has any proof one way or the other. Logic says that would be a reasonable thing to have happened. So wait, already.

the main thing we are putting off is just re-signing Deebo and Nick B. They surely can wait another 3-4 mos. They are still getting enough money at present to pay for meals.

Could JG and F.O have had any discussion re: Jimmy's salary if he remains as a backup? Maybe. But for now, our tight lipped F O is doing its job and saying nothing which to me is what an F. O should be doing…saying nothing.

After almost 700 pages, this take makes the most sense to me.
Let's use Indy as a base line. They don't have a 1st round pick, so they are not drafting a franchise QB (especially in this class). If they wanted Mariota, that would be done. I think they are legit interested in Jimmy, BUT they want medicals before they commit to $25 mil.

If I'm Yee, I'd be negotiating an extension with team friendly terms, possibly heavily incentivized.

Lynch, take a 3rd this year, with a conditional pick next year.

Get it done.
