No doubt, I'm thrilled with yesterday's victory. But this team is obsessed with shooting itself in the foot, or at least attempting to. Here are 3 things that need to be cleaned up if there's any chance to beat Green Bay:
1) Kyle abandoning what works (yesterday, the run): yes, the pick was Jimmy's fault, but there is NO reason to throw there. Up 23-7 with 10 minutes left and 2nd down, run the ball twice and punt if need be. That would take the clock under 9:00 and back Dallas up. I'm still amazed that during the last series of the Super Bowl vs the Chiefs, Kyle didnt run the ball once. There was plenty of time to conduct a "normal" drive. Instead, 4 passes and a loss.
2) Special teams: an absolute train wreck. There's no need to pressure the punter, only bad things can happen. I agree with Kyle, special teams will not win the game, but they absolutely cant lose it. Kick and punt coverage and returns are AWFUL and not communicating to player to ALWAYS be mindful of a fake punt when up big is inexcusable. Play it safe and smart and move on.
3) Brain farts: I know Demeco wants to be more aggressive, but SF doesnt have the CBs to play 1-on-1. The first TD would not have happened against cover 2. Bend but don't break. And on the last drive, not covering the sideline for the first 2 (or 3) throws? I mean, LITERALLY having no one on the sideline...what sense did that make? And offensively, WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF MOTIONING THE LINE ON A QB SNEAK?? Jimmy is sneaking between the C and G. Tackles and TEs are basically not even part of the play. Unnecessary in every way.
On average, SF is a rather smart team, but too often they try to get "too cute" or do things that are flat out dumb. And that's on coaching.

You missed one:
They led the entire game and won a playoff road game against a good team.

too many fans letting a W blind them to our huge holes.
we almost had a typical 2021 49ers blown game yesterday. should have been a shut out by us, we should have killed them. instead the 2021 49ers showed up an tried to give the cowboys the game. special teams BS an a dagger worst case possible iNT from jimmy. classic 2021 49ers.
we won the game but with a little luck from the refs, an the cowboys. yes i tink our team earned the win but we almost gave the game up. if we just ignore how we keep almost giving the game up we all what will happen one week.

1. Disagree. Can't go too conservative. Too much time left.
2. Ok.
3. There is nothing wrong playing cover 1 man occasionally. We should not be focusing on one play but the whole game. I do agree with you on the last drive. Demaco's inexperience really shown on those situational football. The motion on the QB sneak was ok. It cause the DL to shift. Jimmy G needs to do better than that on that QB sneak.

This thread must've slipped through the multiverse where the Cowboys eliminated the Niners.

I agree with your post the team almost gave the game away. Why didn't we protect the sidelines ? Should have forced dallas to complete passes in bounds towards the middle. We need a dress special teams this off-season and get a new returner.

Maybe they did and we got stuck in an alternate universe where the Niners won.

He's right it won't cut the mustard this week. Dallas with 8 and 9 in the box and Shanahan scared to death to pass the ball. If he play calls scared this week we're done in the 2022 playoffs.

i wonder if the packers fans were like this in week 3 when we came back from 17 against them and they won on a last second FG
