For the "grass is always greener" crowd
Packers had Favre/Rodgers from 92/93(?)-2021 and only got 2 Super Bowls from them early in their careers
49ers had Montana/Young from 1979-1999 and got 5 Super Bowls and the NFLs greatest dynasty.

Gabbert has gone on to win a Super Bowl while the other isn't even a back up in the league. Easy choice

Wait, this thread is about coaches, not QBs. Yes, giving inexperienced defensive coaches like Sing and Nolan the power to make decisions on QBs is not smart.

Thats why you have an Offensive minded Head Coach and a defensive minded GM. Best of both worlds.

Anyways, can't wait till trey starts. Go 9ers and Jimmy g on Sunday!
I would put Kyle on the list too, for the Brady stuff... but he was able to get Trey and Brady was older at least.
I'll bite.
To be fair to Shanahan/Lynch, after we made it to the Super Bowl, do you sign the GOAT and conceivably it's a year-to-year thing because you never know when he'll retire and/or Father Time catches up to him?
But to entertain the thought exercise... suppose we signed Tom for 2020 and dealt Jimmy away... Brady would've been on a team decimated by injuries. Sure, you can never count out Brady, but would've been a tough year for him. As amazing as he is, he's not infallible.
Going into the offseason, we wouldn't have traded up for Lance, but perhaps drafted an impact player in the 1st and then maybe Mills, Trask, Mond as the QB of the future in Round 2 or 3? So, continuing on, we would've rolled into 2021 with this team, and I think we'd be in the same place as we are now, competing for a Super Bowl. Certainly, I'd feel a lot more confident with Brady at QB than Jimmy... but I also feel good knowing that we have Trey waiting in the wings and our team is set-up well for the future.
