Completely untrue. And this is the great fallacy people still believe.

If Jimmy stays, his contract is off the books after 2022. Samuel isnt technically a FA until 2023 and Bosa, not until 2024. If they are signed to extensions this offseason, the front office could easily structure it so more of the financial burden hits in later years.

Jimmy staying would, however, limit how many other FAs SF can sign--their own or others.

Thanks for clearing that up - I wouldn't mind another year of Jimmy, I think another year of Trey sitting isn't all that bad.

They can keep Jimmy, it will be tight, but considering Trey's evolution and the Pat Mahomes game plan of one year with training wheels, they probably won't.
Use advanced cloning techniques to bring back Rick Mirer. In the Bay Area we should be leading this.

Not without giving up better players they can't.
ANYONE who would like another year of JImmyG must enjoy BORING football and a mediocre QB who gets rid of the ball so quickly he's limited to 5 yard passes and who smiles after every one of his interceptions. Jimmy MUST GO NOW...

Aaron "f**kING" Rodgers!!!!

We are built to win now the core should be intact for 1 or 2 more seasons before we start blowing this s**t up again

Win mode now no time to develop Lance we want a real shot at returning to the title game next year bring in Rodgers. We all saw how Tampa Bay went from Night N Day same season they brought in Brady. This 49ers team has more talent too than Tampa.
Choice is obvious

Tell me how we're going to get Rodgers.

We have nothing to trade GB for him.
We're conference rivals, why would GB send him to a team that could eliminate them in the playoffs

There's no way in hell we're getting Rodgers, it's just not going to happen.

The freaking Cincinnati Bengals (the Bengals) are in the Super Bowl with Joe Burrow, a QB who has barely played a season and a half.

We've eliminated them every time from the playoffs while they had Rodgers. End result is the same either way for green bay

Think he has peaked, think it's gonna be down hill from here

Yep,just when he's starting the beginning of the end I want the 9ers to beat em down twice a year and once in preseason just for good measure.

Plus, he will want 60 mil a year,no thanks.

Plus he fumbles more than any QB. He's probably got the biggest hands of any QB, and he fumbles the most. Go figure.
