That's all that really matters.
We're assuming Kyle can build a strong roster.
No interest on how good Purdy can be on other teams.
Much BETTER than Jimmy. That's not even a debate.
With that said, this game goes 50% on him (the other 50% goes to Wilks). Two chances for a go ahead TD and likely seal the victory and you throw an INT both times. In excusable. Two weeks in a row now that teams have figured him out. Time to get it fixed or Shanny will start giving him the JimmyG treatment eg keep the ball out of his hand…
He is better than Jimmy, but about 25-30 QBs in the league can say that, so we should be aiming a little higher.

When Kyle freaks/s**ts the bed..it trickles down to the players
When the DC can't do his job...going to affect the players
When K/L are brainless and make a 3rd round blunder..going to affect the game
When injuries happen...going to affect the team
But blame Brock ok
Just think if we still had Ryans and Gould(or another vet that can kick?)
Two bonehead moves to hire Wilks & Moody and it's costing us
Injuries again, also suck
Honestly over the mistakes by the coaching staff..."think McFly, think" lol

The comment was meant for those that ponder whether getting rid of Jimmy was a mistake. And we know there are posters who think that way…

Disagree with everything in this post except the first two sentences.
Nothing to disagree with. Our defense sucked. Couldn't stop a nosebleed. Yet gave our offense 2 chances to take the lead and likely put the game away. How did we fare, and who shoulders the responsibility?
If we're gonna give Purdy the ticker tape parade treatment every time he has a monster game, then we need to call him out when he flounders. His turnovers were atrocious and unnecessary. The last one didn't even make sense. Gotta blame him for that no doubt…

Purdy looked like Nick Mullen's in that 2H. It scared the crap out of me. Two horrifically bad late game picks and ended the Niners chances. He choked , period. Lost his poise and threw panic balls.

This is the last year that we'll be able to keep this roster together. The roster will only get weaker imo.

The optimistic look here is the team is still banged up. Purdy may not be anything but he doesn't have all of his weapons right now. You add Deebo and his ability to turn 5 into 50 and it's a different outlook.

Purdy played very well mostly all night until they actually needed him to deliver. In crunchtime, he failed. I gave him a pass against Cle. because the whole team was out of sorts, but unless I see otherwise, this failure against Minn. is mostly on him. It's drives like the ones he was given an opportunity to direct that separates QB's...puts them in different tiers. I read a lot of 'elite' stuff about Purdy, and while the definition varies from person to person....he ain't it yet. Not for me. Not saying he can't get there, but he's not there.
As far as this loss against the Vikes....I'm looking more at Wilks and his scheme, the lack of pass rush, and the OL before I look at the QB overall.

Rough 2 game stretch. That being said, the Browns game wasn't really on him and even then, he drove us down when it mattered most, gave us the chance to walk away with a win and Moody choked.
The Vikings game he also played real well until the last 2 drives. Not sure what happened but that was purdy uncharacteristic of him. I have no doubt he'll right the ship. Much more concerned about our defense and how Cousins exposed them today. Especially our d line. So much capital invested in them yet not one sack in the game. And Wilks calling that blitz with the Vikings having no more timeouts… that's the big mistake in this game. That touchdown NEVER should have happened. Wake up!!!

Niners are 5-2 and lost 2 tough road games. Happens.
I think Purdy is a good QB. I didn't label him elite or even the "real deal" after 10-12 games and I'm certainly not going to put any labels after 2 poor games.
Win next one and then have a great bye week to get ready for real season to start.

The offense looks the same. Everything in the middle of the field in breaking.
No sideline or deep shots. Zero use of check downs.

That's on kyle? Purdy threw sideline td's last year.
Purdy is a rock star. he made many positive plays for us last night -- was the only one contributing actually. The two pics at the end were too bad. jennings and ray ray should get more reps with brock. He needs to maintain poise.

The first interception was a back breaker.

Purdy will be fine. He is the real deal. He will grow from this. The defense on the other hand is not fine. That needs immediate attention.
