just not happening. you don't choose brock over darnold 20 times and then choose darnold over brock. they made their bed on darnold long time ago that's done.

can't be as simple as he was the last pick in the draft for a reason, can it?

if he has the best roster in the league, he'll look like an MVP. I'm sure most QB's in the league would too.

Yes this.
i can't express how disappointing it was to see him fall on his face as badly as he did tonight. That was absolutely awful. Awful QB play.

On the single most important play of the game, 2nd and 10 at the Rams 30, with a chance to bleed clock and take the lead, he panic throws a ball into the end zone to basically nobody, for an easy pick.

He had 3 other guys wide open underneath and choked.

It's absurd. Just look at the QB's who are paid $30M. That's Geno Smith money and he signed years ago. Hell we gave Jimmy G $25M per in 2017 and he only started 5 games lol.

You guys also are taking the low end of the range that was posted, and what was actually important was the concept not the actual dollar figure.

I think it's a dream anything less than 45. I'm probably dreaming even at 45. If you try and hold out it's going to end up absurd though.

Do the deal under the table after this game. This is the worst one he's had yet which means you can secure the lowest price.

If they actually take deebo out of the gameplan and put in the rookies he might put up some crazy numbers which just makes him more expensive in the off-season.

Secure it now and hope he keeps his word for as low as you can get him this week.

Yeah, right. Rex Ryan, Terry Bradshaw, and Howie Long all compared him to Joe Montana last season, but none of us know as much as you, the guy who thinks an offense that starts Deebo Samuel at wide receiver and has Kyle Shanahan, whose system every analyst hates, is a QB friendly offense with a loaded supporting cast.

Well I wouldn't say hyperbole isn't your thing, lol.

Let's see how this plays out.

Not a bad idea

Don't see a problem with 45 on a shorter term deal with outs. The number isn't necessarily the most important thing here. There's a bunch of ways they get a good deal done that protects both sides.

Well the low end is a joke. I could understand not wanting to pay him a record deal after how this season has gone, but clearly it's not all Purdy. Despite all of the injuries and dysfunction, he's been our steadiest player. He's still pushing the ball down the field and making plays. He's absolutely not hiding or checking down.

The franchise tag is estimated to be $42M next season (irrelevant because it's his final year of his rookie deal) so probably $46M the year after. That's your floor. I've been saying for weeks now the Niners would be LUCKY if Purdy agreed to $50M-$55M. 3 years $150M ($100M guaranteed) is the bare minimum but more likely 4 years $220M ($165M guaranteed) is reasonable. I could easily see 5 years $300M ($150M-$200M guaranteed) happening.

And in 2-3 seasons, $50M-$55M won't even be top 15 QB money. That's the whole point in having more years. Hell just get rid of Deebo and Hargrave and that about does it. CMC is on his way out. Salary cap is growing quickly. It keeps the window open.

Alternative is a rookie QB and total gamble that he's not ready or not NFL caliber. Sounds much more risky than paying a known commodity like Purdy.
Dam I can't honestly say he's better than Geno or Kyler. We have the worst qb in the division. Dam

Uh, he was literally hands down the best QB in football last season. Never missed an open receiver. Set records for deep accuracy, hit everybody in the numbers every time. Threaded needle after needle. Now he sails balls 10 yards over the head of receivers standing by themselves 2 yards away. He had 2 MRIs on his shoulder.

He has a SERIOUS injury, no matter what they're telling you. He also struggles to get the ball 40 yards now when he puts everything into it. Last year he threw it 55.

He has never had anything close to the best roster in the league. He has been playing with the worst "wide receiver" in football being forced into a prominent role since he took over.

Supporting cast isn't the reason he's saying balls 10 yards over the heads of receivers 2 yards away. Pull your head out of your ass.

The coach and the player himself says he's not injured, but you know best? Ok bro! 😂😂😂and I gotta pull my head out of my ass.

you shanna-fans and purdy disciples can be so damn cute sometimes! What the hell are you smoking, I'd like a little!

I remember when majority were convinced Sam Darnold was a scrub and why is he the #2 QB over Trey Lance.

He literally had 2 MRIs. Do you have any idea how many coaches and players have lied about injuries to hide things?

Have you seen darnolds weapons? You know, the best receiver in football?

if Darnold comes back here he would sink back into mediocrity. And O'Connel is way better than shannahan.

Unless Purdy does us dirty and tries to pull a BA type stunt. Then I think you find a way to offload him, and bring in a bridge quarterback while you try to find your franchise QB.

the problem with is, however, that Kyle will likely do what he does best. Compromise the future and force the front office to sign Brock for a max deal which he certainly does not deserve.

in essence both Kyle and Brock will sink with this ship. I expect a regime change in 2026, which means it back to square one unfortunately…
