I'm their primes, who was the better pass rusher out of these two

It's the offseason, so here's a question just for fun..

Ignoring all the off the field problems, when it comes to strictly the more talented pass rusher, would you say it was Aldon Smith or Nick Bosa.

I feel like Nick Bosa is a better technician with his hands and also has better flexibility around the edge.

However Aldon was just a freak. He was very athletic, with extremely long arms, and incredible power. I've never seen edge rushers flat back tackles so easily before. Trent Williams and Joe Staley are both on record as saying Aldon Smith was the toughest pass rusher they ever had to go against. A potential Hall of Fame career thrown down the drain ☹️ I hink it's an interesting discussion. So what say you?
Aldon 100%
Aldon was on Lawrence Taylor level. Bosa is decent.
I think this is the most recent news on Aldon: https://www.si.com/nfl/cowboys/news/tragic-cowboys-aldon-smith-court-dui-arrest

So what you are saying is that drunk, Kap took my gf, bomb yelling Aldon is better than Bosa?
Who was the better pick: Bosa at 2 or Aldon at 7?
Clearly Bosa.
Aldon was a freak, but he also had the advantage of playing next to Cowboy. Justin smith took on double teams and held them so aldon could get free. Now Bosa is consistently doubled and still gets home. Could you imagine the cowboy and bosa playing next to each other?

Tough call. I'll say Aldon but then you have to consider that his prime was really short. I'd take Haley over both of them. Then I might take Cedrick Hardman over Haley.
It's close, but if we're just talking pass rush, I'd give it to Aldon. They're actually very similar stylistically and approach(both win in multiple ways, are very handsy, love double swiping, are excellent at marrying hands and feet etc). The difference is Aldon had insane length(35 3/8" arms), and when combining hand technique, timing and hand placement with that type of length, it's devastating.

I think Bosa is the better overall player. Bosa is is a beast in run defense and ball pursuit.
Aldon without question.
I think it's Bosa. He does what he does without the benefit of Justin Smith tying up the entire interior of the offensive line for him.
Aldon, and its not even close.
If you could design the perfect passrusher, Aldon was that. To top it off he also put it together technique wise. Bosa is amazing and can have a HOF career but Aldon could have been one of the greats if he didn't absolutely spiral out of control.

Agree. He was on pace to be the GOAT defender. What a f**king shame.
Aldrunk was the better PASS RUSHER... but not the better DE...

I also fully believe that Aldrunk never reached his prime because of his stupidity and Bosa is just now ABOUT to hit his prime..

Only LT and DT was better as a pass rusher than Aldrunk very early in their career.
