SF 49ERS at Panthers Pregame Thread - 2022 Week 5

I think almost everyone was even more confident that the 49ers would beat the Bears.

Fair point. Although I think first games are notoriously hard to judge. And the weather certainly wasn't helpful either.
Are the Niners staying on the east coast for these 2 games coming up? Niners should dominate this game, but I also thought they would dominate the Bears. I'll blame it on the weather and Lances first start of this season. Niners have played 4 games now, they should be primed to start a winning streak!

Victory weeks are the best weeks. So let's keep the good times rolling with a beatdown of the Panthers. I expect the team to use these games to continue to shape their offensive identity and be great on defense.

We should not be overlooking these games against "lesser" opponents. The team needs to continue developing chemistry offensively before we see the Chiefs and face the Rams again. We'll need to average at 30 ppg along with this stingy defense to beat the higher-powered offensive teams because we'll have an injury-plagued stretch defensively. In that game we'll need to score toe-to-toe with offenses like the NO game in 2021.

This is a TCOB game, no keeping them around, crush them early, and move on.

Yep. I want to see Jimmy in that gay-ass hat sitting on the sidelines in the fourth quarter, goofing around with GK, while Brock Purdy gets some snaps. I need the announcers talking about what they're having for dinner. No more nail-biters down to the wire. My poor heart can't take it.

Right. Last year losing those close games dam near cost them a playoff bid if they had that 3 way tie at the end of the season. And so far this year they have lost to 2 teams that they are better than.
I just heard that Hufanga had the 2nd fastest time of any player during last weeks games. 21. something MPH on the INT. So much for 40 times.

Yeah, the 40 time is an evaluation but not a tell all. People just get caught up in it too much.
Maybe we can make a trade for CMC after the game

So he can keep Trance Lance company being injured? This dude gets hurt more than Kittle.
Hopefully this isn't a trap game. I'd like to think our talent would rise to the top but honestly all the injuries we have, short week across the coast, coming off a big division win...

Gotta win the games we should win at this point. We lost 2 at this point and have been invisible on offense on the road. Have to change that in this game and the Panthers defense has some ballers on it. Let's put Chicago/Denver in the past and get back to our road warrior ways.

Then come home 4-2 and get a statement win over the Chefs.
Chinn on IR big hit for that good D

Damn that is huge. Is Dontae Jackson playing? I thought he may have been injured last week.
