Valid argument….if Jimmy was actually successful in said playoffs. Assuming he plays just as well (or bad like Jimmy), we're still losers. He would have to play lights out almost Bradyesque to give us a legit chance to win it all.

that's not happening
we can all agree this 49er team arguably fields an all decade defense this year if they stay healthy. not unlike the 85 Bears, the 2000 Ravens or 2002 Bucs

here are Dilfer's 2000 playoff numbers

here are Brad Johnson's 2002 numbers

my point is the Niners can very easily still win a Super Bowl with Brock motherf**kin' Purdy leading the team.

I don't think this defense is comparable to either of those 2 defenses. Those were shut down units. We're actually quite leaky, but opportunistic. Huff will make an amazing game changing play at the goal line one week, then completely miss an assignment and give up a 70 yard TD the following week.

It's why KC was able to expose us a few weeks ago. And if Tua played like a real quarterback in the first half, this could have easily been a 21 or 28 pointer on this D going into the half…

I love the optimism but that's a diffrent era where defense was allowed to play defense.

this new nfl where Josh Allen and mahommes dominate is soft with bs penalties all on the defense that change the outcome.

brocks gonna have to be pretty good and lucky for us to have a shot. Good news is the young dude doesn't know any better and just flings it. But how far that takes us I'm not sure
Pretty silly to think this team can win a super with Mr.Irrelevant, it was already going to be a tough task with Jimmy. So yes

for the 100,000,000th time. 49ers season comes crashing down due to injuries
Not sure why people think the season's over. Purdy looked good out there today, not much drop off from Jimmy.

the Niners defensive pressure was the main driver of Tua's performance today. this was a top 3 NFL offense that got lucky on two plays. the D was great today.

and it's still only week 13. this Niner D gets better every week. by the time the playoffs roll around, they'll be more improvement barring injury.

the real Big Dick Nick was the reason the Eagles won the SB that year

MIA wasn't prepared for Purdy. Teams coming up will be. It's the experience of calling protections and audibles at the line. Purdy isn't experienced. He'll have his positive plays yes but it won't be enough when he'll have to drive the length of the field to win the game in 2 min. I don't know if Shanny trusts him like that yet.

Just sucks that we have a SB roster and are making noise then our starting QB is now out for the season. Teams just have to stack the box now to stop the run and make an unproven rookie QB beat them.
49ers til I die, if theres even a chance then the season never over.

What kind of question is this.

What happens if we play some of the top defenses? I don't think Purdy will make them pay.
