Is the season over without Jimmy G?

I know when Trey went down, there were Doctors out there that stated Trey could make it in the postseason. Is this even possible with his IR designation?

How ironic Jimmy goes down in this fashion. I remember that huge smile he had when he went in after Trey went down.
If he plays well against the Bucs, I'll start to believe. Much harder once a defense prepares for you.

Isn't it WILDLY ironic that the people who think we can't win a super bowl with (or despite, depending on your camp) Jimmy G are the ones who call people DELUSIONAL for thinking that.

And yet, they expect pro football and this team to not skip a beat with Purdy.

Yes, he punched WAY above his weight class in this game. But talk to me in five weeks.

I hope he proves me wrong. But to not be realistic and have concern the season is over without a true starting QB and have people think YOU'RE the one that's thinking irrationally is...welp, i guess, a microcosm of the polarized, dysfunctional thinking that is this country...further distilled into this fanbase.

Good response. At least acknowledge and give a retort vs posting a gif like a 22 year old tiktok white chick.

It is possible. Fact they still have an IR spot left to designate to return tells me a ton. Kyle won't say it because too early. Probably won't happen, but it will be a possibility until it's not.

Talk to me after the Seahawks game! Will be amazing If he can pull off a win in that atmosphere.

I had my doubts about keeping him over Nate Sudfeld; dude has no arm. Lets see how far the team can carry him.

His arm is not that much worse than Mac Jones who some still think would be great in this offense.

Perfect for an offense designed around Jimmy G.

They weren't winning a Superbowl with Jimmy anyway. Either way, you're going to need a miracle. Might as well see what Purdy can do

True

As most of here know, I'm NOT a very big Jimmy G fan. But you gotta feel bad for him and it sucks losing him, Now as we are obviously down to our third string rookie QB, Brock Purdy and if he goes down..... that being said, I think you saw today that Kyle can run more of the offense he likes with Jimmy G out and not have to cater the offense to Jimmy. Purdy looks like that classic "Scrappy gamer" type QB. He reminds me a lot of Shaun Hill, who for all short comings and limitations, had a 15yr NFL Career and started over 30 games. That being said, I think this might be the best game we see out of Purdy for the next few games as there will now be film on him and Defense will prepare for HIM. I'm hoping for a miracle that Trey Lance comes back for the playoffs.....
This is how you know the NFL isn't rigged. They absolutely would have loved to have had Jimmy vs Brady next week.

Isn't rigged because Jimmy got injured?

They tried to rig the game for dolphins with obvious incomplete passes called complete and letting scumbag dolphin players hit our QBs low all day. Hell they even tried to give the dolphins the final touchdown scored by Greenlaw. Amazing win to fight through a game heavily favored for the dolphins to win.

Next week will be much worse as they will make the story about how Brady is the GOAT and 49ers should have taken his old ass in 2020. Won't be able to get a sack on him without a personal foul call. Might as well go for broke on the first hit and take him out since we are 100% getting flagged for any sack.
For better or worse, we will all now see how valuable Jimmy was to this team. I am not a Jimmy fanboy, but know he was our best shot at a title this year. I am nevertheless unswayed in my belief this TEAM can still do it, and confident in Purdy/Shanahan.

To me it comes down to exactly what I thought it would before the season--the defense. I was swayed, considerably, after the KC shellacking, but let's see how they (the defense) do down the stretch. I figured, come playoff time, the defense would need to hold teams to sub 21-24 to win, regardless of who QB1 was.

So while I am dismayed JG is hurt, not because I care for JG, but because I realized once Trey went down this season was lost without JG. I am hoping over the next few weeks Brock serves me some crow. And, I will admit, Brock has me a bit excited after what he did today. But I'll check back in two weeks and let you know how I am feeling about ole' Brock then.

Not sure why people think the season's over. Purdy looked good out there today, not much drop off from Jimmy.

MIA wasn't prepared for Purdy. Teams coming up will be. It's the experience of calling protections and audibles at the line. Purdy isn't experienced. He'll have his positive plays yes but it won't be enough when he'll have to drive the length of the field to win the game in 2 min. I don't know if Shanny trusts him like that yet.

Just sucks that we have a SB roster and are making noise then our starting QB is now out for the season. Teams just have to stack the box now to stop the run and make an unproven rookie QB beat them.

Right. We only know Purdy is good against pressure, which is a winning attribute.
