Do we know anything about when the divisional round schedule will be announced? Already pumped to know. I'm aware we play the Vikings if they win and the Bucs/Cowboys winner if the Giants win, but wondering when we will play.
My prediction is if we play Minnesota we play Saturday, if we play Bucs/ Cowboys winner it will be Sunday.
reason being I can't see the league making the Bucs/ cowboys winner play Saturday after playing Monday night.

This will be correct imo.

I'm predicting by the end of Sunday's games it will already be announced as either us V Vikings or Eagles v Giants for Saturday.

Defense is getting avg to worse! When the season finished, they were ranked 28th! in the last 4 games.

That is a problem, especially against the Eagles and ANY AFC team, if we get that far.

They have to translate 2nd half success into first half. It's been a problem all season long.

A lot of our old team issues showed up this game and we still won by a ton!
  • Poor 1st down offense
  • Slow starts
  • Poor Run defense
  • Conservative play calling inside the RZ
  • Stupid penalties
  • Inaccurate QB/timing off
  • Can't cover TE's esp. off the bootleg
  • Give up the big play for the TD
  • 10 point lead curse
  • Drops (in the EZ)

This won't fly in the next round.
Agreed need to punch first on defense and stay eye disciplined, penaltys and drops will kill us. Also kickoff special teams needs to improve by Gould he has to kick touch backs.

Good point. It was nice to see Schneider switch gears from having Gould kick kickoffs to the goal line to out of the EZ once they got positive returns. Then return to it after we got a lead. Hightower would have kept doing the same thing until they broke one for a TD.

Why so much doom and gloom? We did what we had to do in the second half. As long as we do that, we will be hard to beat.

No doom here (see bold) but noting we haven't seen these old issues in 11 games. And noting this needs to be cleaned up for the next round or it might cost us our goal of winning #6.

dude...we saw all of it just a few games ago v Raiders

As long as we keep putting up 35+ points, we are going to be hard to beat.

Ultimately this! Just don't want to count on it in a shoot out. Let's call it first playoff game jitters to start.

What defense in the NFC do you think can slow this offense down?

Defense still forced turnovers. Just like I said a few weeks ago. Even on the defenses worse days they still force multiple turnovers.

The knock on the 49ers has been that Shanahan's offense has been less than great and we have leaned too much on the defense to win in the playoffs. Not anymore. We finally have the QB that compliments all the weapons we have accumulated and it is starting to pay dividends. All the defense really needs to do is stay opportunistic.

The only defense that has a chance is one where they control the LOS and get consistent pressure. Seattle did that the first half. Their run defense was stuffing our run game and they played behind our LOS. Irvin was playing like it was 2013 on PED's again. And on offense, they got positive first downs and ran well and controlled our offense by keeping them on the bench.

But like you noted, that's hard to do for a full game esp. given Brock was off on his accuracy and timing all day, our running game struggled a bit to get started and our defense had its issues...yet, in the end, it was a blowout win because the talent is so good that it was just a matter of time before they got it going.

This team is ready!

Glad to see that the Defense adjusted. I thought it was going to come down to the team with the last possession.

LMAO.

And thank you for your contribution. It's given us great health and wins. Who knew sacrificing you from posting in the game day thread for the whole game to the Football Gods was all they really wanted all this time?

If we don't get that TO there, they might have gone up 1 point again and game on. Thank you Charles Omenihu!

got bad news for you...if we make the SB it is gonna be up to our offense

I still believe. But you're right...defense has some holes teams continue to expose.

Yeah I feel you NC, but the defense is still doing an outstanding job. They stepped up in the second half and made huge plays. Overall it's hard to keep up what they have been doing all season without seeing dips in performance, plus we played a team for the third time this season, so to see Seattle put up a fight can't be too surprising. But the awesome thing about our current run is the offense is firing on all cylinders, so as long as the defense keeps from going full Raiders, we should be in every remaining game we play.

Lets enjoy the ride! I feel better about this team than I did in 2019. I feels great to be relevant again

100%. I'm always thinking ahead. Chiefs...so gotta clean some stuff up. We've got this. Way way way better than 2019 or 2021.

On an unrelated note, when I saw the whole team—even Kyle—come to beat that ass for 23 twisting Deebo's ankle, I got vibes of this:
