It's kind of wild that we haven't lost a game since Oct 23… lol

I was sitting here thinking about all the playoff games I went to at the stick in 80s and 90s. Right about now we would be setting up our tailgate stuff and breaking out the booze. The smell of everyone's barbeque specialties is wafting over the parking lot. Everyone is excited and confident. We all spend the next 3 hours eating and getting liquored up. My ticker partner worked at Seagrams bottling plant so we always had plenty of "free" liquor. By 12:30 we're all primed and start heading into the stadium.
We enter the stadium and it's electric. Wayne Tarr is leading the Go Niners chant. Banjo Man and the Red Man are strolling through the stands pumping up the crowd even more. The Niners usually won but the games were always exciting. The ride home was always great if they won. We would turn on the radio and listen to post game interviews and replays of game calls from Lon Simmons or Joe Starkey. Getting out of the lot sometimes took 45 minutes and then we had a 45 minute drive home so we had plenty of time to hear the highlights and digest what we saw. If it was an NFC championship we would sometimes go to a restaurant and celebrate with a lot of other Niner fans.
Great memories from a great era.
Great memories, brotha. Thanks for sharing.

I think I might try the swapping of jersey's today since I will be home to watch the game. Bosa on defensive drives and Aiyuk on offensive drives.

I wish I could wear my vintage 1981 gold satin Niners jacket but it no longer fits me. Forty years have added almost 40 lbs. I bought it right after he Dallas game in 1981 when the Niners embarrassed the Cowboys 45-14. All season long fans were asking me where I bought it since merchandise wasn't easily available like it is now. Women wanted to buy one for their boyfriends or husband for Christmas. This was before Starter and Chalkline got going big time in retail. Mine is actually made in the US which makes it a rarity now. After the Catch game I found a patch that commemorated it and had my mom sew it on the sleeve.
Now I just need to lose 40 lbs.
