SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS at PHILADELPHIA EAGLES - 2022 Season Conference Championship

Sounds about right. They do have a very talented team however they're not as good as people think.

I still haven't seen the play where Brock Purdy gets injured and Brandon Aiyuk is wide-open for a long game against Bradberry.

We would've done what the Chiefs did to em and held them under 24 pts.
The worst part about our game was that 49ers /Philly would have been the best game of the year…the two best and toughest teams in the NFL going head to head, even tho we had a QB who had played in just 7 NFL games as a rook, and 3rd string qB. We still were one of the two best team in NFC. So what happened was we, the fans including nationally, got cheated out of potentially the best game of the yr.

Had Riddick not taken out Brock's UCL, i believe we would have won. As it was, once our 3rd string QB went down, the game was basically over. Man i would have loved to have seen that game with Brock uninjured. And yes, i was pulling for KC to beat them silly.

Not sure how our game with Andy Reid and Mahomes would have gone but that could have been the 2nd best game of the yr. And again, the real losers were the fans who didn't get to see that game either.

We would have gotten the snot kicked out of us by Mahomes and Co. Did you see how aggressive Sirriani played on offense. He was going for the jugular early and often, and they still lost. Substitute Kyle who would opt for a punt on 4th and inches from the 30….and the score would have been lopsided in KC's favor.

We lucked out BIG TIME getting our asses handed to us in Philly…

I feel like our defense would have faired better than Philly's d. Their defense has a bunch of poor tacklers, our defense is better at stopping the run and we don't rely as heavily on our pass rush as the eagles defense does. Those field conditions took away Philly's best asset on defense and that is their pass rush. But it was KC's run game that sparked their 2nd half comeback. I don't see that happening against us.

Before you mention week 7. Just remember that we were coming off of a 2 week road trip on the east coast with a banged up defense and an offense that was doing it no favors.

Week 7 is exactly the reference point to use. Home game with an intact offense and we got our asses handed to us. Now mind you IMO Purdy is a HUGE upgrade over Jimmy, so I think our offense could put up a better fight. But at the end Mahomes would have ass raped us and we would be 5-3 in SBs with two losses coming at the hands of Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes.

NO THANKS !

It was an 8 point game and chiefs had a 3rd & 12 with 10 mins left in the game....

Using week 7 is a terrible reference point. CMC had only been with the team two days at that point and there was no Brock Purdy. Plus the injuries we were dealing with on defense. Nick Bosa coming off of injury and not practicing all that week had an affect on the game as well. If we would have went to the SB, we would have been on a 13 game win streak with a week of rest before the game. Not guaranteeing we would have won but we certainly would have stood a chance. Do you honestly believe Philly's offense is that much better than ours?

Also, what kind of mentality is that? To rather not go to the SB in fear of losing another one. Pfff.

Not saying I agree but it does suck to spend $$$ going to these SB games and lose.

Agree with all of this, and regardless of the circumstances around the week 7 game, teams can change significantly over a period of months. They get better, they get worse.

Never understood the 'fear of losing a Super Bowl' argument, especially considering our results in the conference championship round. You go as far as you can go.

Actually it was a 5 point game. It was 28-23 at that time. The game was closer than the score shows. It got out of hand in the last 8 minutes.
