This can't be a serious factor in any decision for QB2

If it's very close, Then yes. Darnold hasn't done enough to win that job. IMO Darnold had to prove to be much better in order to be given that backup job. And I am sorry but I haven't seen it.

If you have Trey as QB3 meaning you can only use him as an emergency QB on gameday, It would also mean you can't bring him into games when the score is lopsided to get him those reps he needs. This is why you have to have Trey as QB2 because in those blowout games you are going to want to play Trey over Darnold. Any rep you can find for Trey is a benefit.

Dump him for whatever you can get and let him get those reps elsewhere

So he can thrive elsewhere and make Kyle look like the biggest idiot in the league?

Whatever benefits the team thinks Ty Davis-Price might have as a runner, he is absolutely putrid in pass protection. Almost got Brock blasted tonight down on the goal line when he completely whiffed on his assignment, again. I also thought that Jordan Mason ran the ball a little better. Was trying to see Mason in pass protection but didn't catch any real examples one way or the other. Davis-Price may make the team, but they had better make a point of keeping him on the bench for any play that requires him to pick up unblocked rushers.

X1000 He did the same last week too. Still have no idea what they saw in him AND Sermon to make them 3rd round picks

I hope he does thrive elsewhere. It's certainly not going to be here.

Coaching has some sort of bias. All mason did was ball last year with his opportunities.

TDP sucks. You can tell by his speed and footwork. Even running the ball he's below average at best and that's not including the pass protection.

Mason showed significantly more with less reps and actually showed in games he can hammer big runs.

Why TDP is even getting reps at this point is beyond me.

Nichols even showed better vision and cut moves than tdp.

Maybe it's just a good look before making a decision to release him ¯_(ツ)_/¯

We can only hope. It's too obvious watching his play for it to be anything but that right???

Mason is clearly better and it's not close. McNichols might even be better after seeing his couple runs tonight.

That puts TDP behind cmc, Mitchell, mason, McNichols, tdp. Aka he should be cut.
The broncos called the timeout incorrectly at the end of the game correct?

Given we each had one of they did not call the timeout it would have forced us to use our last one with 20-30 seconds left?

This should have forced us to call our last one on second down with 20-30 second left then kick in third down.

Leaving them 15-25 seconds and a timeout left after kicking...

Unless I missed something...

Darnold in both games has shown flashes that he can effectively move the offense. He's shown it against half of a 1st team defense and against a 2nd to 3rd team defense. That's exactly what you want from your QB2.

Two players that I'm hugely disappointed in are Javon Kinlaw and Ty Davis-Price. We saw praise how these players have improved and will be different players. So far its the same from those two, not to mention TDP whiffed on two blocks.

Time to move on from both. Marlon Davidson showed me more in one preseason game than Kinlaw has his whole career in the NFL. Mason and McNichols more than deserve a spot over TDP and I've seen both block much better too.

Fixed

Brock did the same last year to the future insurance sales agents as well as QB3 playing in the preseason games..

It translated just fine vs the 1s - not to mention Lance already was 16-23 for 249 yards 2TDs and 1INT vs NFL starters in a must win game that gave us a chance to make a Super Bowl run.

Give Lance reps and live game experience and he can be a top 10 qb easy.
