Should the 4-4 49ers go all in or all out at the trade deadline?

meh. Was hoping for the edge guy from the Giants but considering he wasn't traded at all they must have been asking for too much for a half season rental.

Nothing really else struck my fancy.

Exactly!!! The Giants probably wanted too much for Ojulari and they probably set the price high for NFC teams!!!

We had a great draft and we have a s**t ton of picks next year 🤷🏻‍♂️.

And we have glaring holes now.

Sucks cause if we didn't blow two huge leads - we would be 6-2, getting back some of our best players.

Let's hope we go on a terror in the second half and rip off all wins

Kyle is 43-18(.704) in his games after the bye week.

I feel good about this team in the second half of the season. Let's hope we heal up and gel better as we go down the stretch.

this team is very capable of top notch football, just has been super inconsistent and too many self inflicted wounds.

Frickin Bell, George Odum, Jiayir Brown, Devondre Campbell!!!! Not to mention Bradon Aiyuk was invisible for the first few games. Jake Brendel, can they please bench his ass!!!

this is the kind of fire i am talking about
we need you in the war room at the deadline next time
Bell still on the team huh

He was just given the captain "C"
Last year's acquisitions of Chase Young and Randy Gregory didn't help that much. Young cost a 3rd round pick as well. He was OK I guess, played well in the SB but didn't do that much prior to that.

Something to remember is that they got a 4th next year as a comp pick for Chase Young going to the Saints. So overall it's not that bad if you can get a rental who would command a good contract in FA. That's why I'm surprised Olujari wasn't dealt.

Yes, good point. I think the Giants must also be thinking that they'll get a comp pick for Ojulari as well but I think it will depend on how many other FAs they let walk or sign. I think their asking price was probably too high. They should have just traded Ojulari and Slayton in order to guarantee they will get picks and not have to worry about signing any FAs that might negate comp picks. They messed up, IMO. Unless they plan to resign Ojulari but prob not with all the $ they have in their DEs.

The 49ers were smart to not make a trade for a player that may or may not help for half a season. With CMC, Jennings and hopefully Greenlaw comingback they're going to stand pat and see how it works out. They didn't have the draft capital to make any major moves.

Gonna disagree with you there. It's good to be optimistic about the players coming back, but not only are we relying on them to make a difference this late in this season. But we're relying on two players coming off Achilles injuries and don't help really help the 9ers where they need it the most and that's at rushing the passer and not giving up big plays, not to mention stopping the run.

49ers have more had enough draft capitol and cap space to make something happen, they just went the conservative safe route that's all. Look at all the trades made, none went for a 2nd round pick. Marshon Lattimore went for 2nd round value but the Commanders still didn't give up a 2nd round pick.

Theyll get a 4th as long as he hits the playing time requirements. Need him to stay healthy for rest of year and get the snaps.

I believe I called the need for a rotational player along the defensive line. Davis is simply a warm body who can rotate in and out and help out the 49ers run defense. Your example is the Commanders, well they are 7-2 and going places. The 49ers sit at 4-4 and with a slew of injuries to its core players it remains to be seen what they are. Do you trade away future assets for this year's 49ers team? I don't think you do. What the 49ers need to do is get healthy and play better. They have the talent to beat any of the remaining teams on their schedule, can they step it up? Let's go!
