Gonna disagree with you there. It's good to be optimistic about the players coming back, but not only are we relying on them to make a difference this late in this season. But we're relying on two players coming off Achilles injuries and don't help really help the 9ers where they need it the most and that's at rushing the passer and not giving up big plays, not to mention stopping the run.

49ers have more had enough draft capitol and cap space to make something happen, they just went the conservative safe route that's all. Look at all the trades made, none went for a 2nd round pick. Marshon Lattimore went for 2nd round value but the Commanders still didn't give up a 2nd round pick.

I believe I called the need for a rotational player along the defensive line. Davis is simply a warm body who can rotate in and out and help out the 49ers run defense. Your example is the Commanders, well they are 7-2 and going places. The 49ers sit at 4-4 and with a slew of injuries to its core players it remains to be seen what they are. Do you trade away future assets for this year's 49ers team? I don't think you do. What the 49ers need to do is get healthy and play better. They have the talent to beat any of the remaining teams on their schedule, can they step it up? Let's go!

Again, no team traded 1st or 2nd round picks for players, it also remains to be seen what were the asking prices for certain players. And while some of you look at the 9ers with only having a 4-4 record, I look at it as the NFC West is up for grabs, and the 49ers need a little more to secure it. And like I said, we're relying a two players who may or may not be fully healthy and are two players that play positions that don't help in certain places, rushing the passer, stopping the run and not giving up the big play. Khalil Davis, I've heard, isn't very good at stopping the run but is quick off the LOS. Devondre Campbell, Ji Ayir Brown and the middle of the DL is still huge liabilities on defense.

The additions of CMC and Dre are not only adding two of the best football players in all of them game, but it's also synergistic. Add in Jennings, Hufanga, Gross Matos and that adds even more synergy.

So yes, CMC helping the offense keeps the defense off the field. That helps rushing the passer, keeping the defense fresh, and with a lead, stops the run.

Greenlaw's emotion, enforcing, and talent rubs off on all parts of the defense.

Problem is, as your alluding to, we are not losing off of talent. We are losing off of discipline and coaching.

We have been in every game just failed to close out the ones we have lost. No amount of talent short of a full rebuild where the team is putting up 40 points every game is going to overcome that.

If we're in a lot of one and two score games we're are going to lose a lot of games unless the discipline and coaching steps up significantly.

This is how the harbaugh team was with Alex in the first year. Just winning these super close games off sheer discipline and wit.

There were no critical mistakes or special teams meltdowns. When we needed to kick a fg we made it and were able to get stops and close out games killing clock.

How many players that could have really helped this team actually got traded. Two? Three? We don't know if the Niners were close to making a deal but it always requires agreement to 2 sides. Many teams may not have wanted to trade anyone that was going to help the 49ers. Last year they picked up a couple of guys and neither was a big factor. Teams don't give up good players in mid season unless they're unloading salary. That's the last thing the 49ers want with Brocks contract coming up.

You think it's just coaching is the reason why the 9ers lost those games? Are we watching the same games? By your logic we should just keep playing George Odum at Safety and start Ronnie Bell, because of course it's not their fault only the coaches right?

And you bring up Harbaugh's team in his first year, which had Justin Smith and one of the best D-lines in football not to mention two All-Pro LB's in Willis and Bowman, compared to what the 9ers have right now? That team had nothing BUT talent, all Alex Smith did that year was manage the season, but tell me what loss the game that year was it coaching or talent? Two words, Kyle and Williams.
