I'm happy with this draft...Jermaine Taylor is a pure scorer great value pick at 32.
Chase Budinger good solid pick. Llull will probably be traded at some point, don't think he'll ever be a Rocket.
Glad we didn't reach for anybody or do any of those stupid proposed trades involving some of our core young players. Our team is great just as is. Now we need to re-sign Artest & find a cheap back-up for Yao.
1) Re-sign Artest
2) Sign back-up Center
Both are very very probably & we'll be done. I agree that with Taylor on board it looks like Wafer is done in Houston, but who knows.

Well, we definately aren't cutting costs like a PHX that's for sure. I never liked Budinger with all his hyope out of HS. Living in Tucson proabably didn't help as they think all their guys are great, he never showed me any heart but we'll see. I think there's a glimmer of hope that somehow we trade for Rubio.

Agreed on Rubio. I just read the whole report from the Spanish newspaper (Marca in Spanish) and Ricky clearly states that he erally has no need to come to the NBA to play for a team that he doesn't like. I smell a trade or he stays in Spain.

Rockets GM Morey said, Llull will stay with his spanish team, for the time being.

2010 offseason will be a interesting one for the rox.
with the only guys under contract;
YAO(Has Player option)
Battier(Last yr of his contract)
Landry(Last yr as well)
Brooks(Team Option)
Dorsey(Team Option)
Hayes(Team Option)
Lowry(RFA Offer)
Budinger(Rookie Deals)
Taylor(Rookie Deals)
and we would be at about 37.5M in commited salaries before any other moves for 2009, most likely Artest signed in 2009.
Then we could trade a few for Amare, maybe a 1st, TMAC, Landry and a filler like hayes or one of the draftees.
Then still have some cash, to sign a vet.

Chase will be a baller off the bench, great pick up, can jump out of the building and has range. He just has a little bit of Ariza-itis in that he falls in love with his jump shot instead of attacking and tryin to dunk on everybody.
I think having Artest and Battier as teammates will do him good.

I have to admit I love our team for next year...great starting lineup, plus good youthful depth off the bench.
PG-Brooks/Lowry
SG-T-Mac/Battier/White/Taylor
SF-Artest/Landry/Budinger
PF-Scola/Hayes/Cook
C-Yao/FA Signing/Dorsey

What i'd like to see Morey do;
Trade, TMAC, Landry, and a 1st and 2nd or another player for Amare Stoudamire and Leandro Barbosa.
Re-Sign Artest
Sign a backup Center
Keep Budinger and Taylor.
have this roster;
C- YAO, Veteran, Hayes
PF- Amare, Scola, Cook
SF- Battier, Budinger
SG- Artest, Barry, Taylor, White
PG- Brooks, Barbosa, Lowry
Trade, TMAC, Landry, and a 1st and 2nd or another player for Amare Stoudamire and Leandro Barbosa.

Yao
Were toast....
I was scratching my head at why Morey was trading Brooks and Battier for Rubio but I understand it now sadly
