all down hill since that terrible Notre Dame game
RIP PAC-12

Wouldn't be shocked if Cal doesn't have a football program in a few years.

lol ok.

More than likely headed to 3 power conferences. Sucks for the athletes as it brings way more travel.

Don't know why the NCAA doesn't just exert authority and get all member institutions on something that makes sense. It would be like allowing the 49ers to join the AFC South, cuz we sense an opening in that division. It's stupid, and no commish in pro sports would allow such nonsense. It will hurt college sports, in the long run.

Because the NCAA is a worthless org benefiting off the work the conferences do. At some point, the conferences could cut them out and there would be almost nothing they could do.

I can see the PAC 12 going away. Also the ACC as we hear grumbling that Florida St is considering leaving. That would leave the big 10, 12 and SEC.

TV rights and conferences making money for themselves changed it. The PAC 12 hiring that Ken dude to get a TV deal done and he couldn't. Now the schools are leaving. He failed.

Yeah the deal has sailed. The dollars on the deal aren't there, with critical schools no longer in conference. You need to tie this to geography on some level, it doesn't make sense for UCLA volleyball to have road trips to places like Penn State on the regular. Logistical nightmare / stupidity. Maybe as you suggest, fewer conferences, if Big 12 gets big enough, you could maybe have Cal in the Big 12 West or something. I just want to see west coast schools, play west coast schools, and so forth.

CAL and Stanford to the ACC. That travel gonna be a b***h

Yup when I think CAL and Stanford, the first thing that comes to mind, is the Atlantic Coast Conference. Brilliant. NCAA is so foolish, in a nutshell right here. The sport is imploding, respect for basic geography and mathematics is under assault, and they are going after Harbaugh over cheeseburgers.

Money talks. Boy, does money talk. The ACC is just stupid.

Maybe New Jersey will buy Cal and move it to Newark.
Cal needed the dough…Stanford has 30 mill in the seat cushions
