They're playing hard and are competitive in just about every game. Many different players getting involved in the scoring. They're making some mistakes here and there but are fighting through and battling back. The young guys are learning on the fly and we're seeing more & more their talent on display.
2 days, 2 wins over the Kraken.

Hoping Askarov is the future. The other person in this trade coming to the Sharks, Kovalenko, is just a rookie and I read was a top young player in Colorado's system.

It's a tough trade because Blackwood was blossoming into something real nice, with a patchwork (at best) defense in front of him. Ideally a split with Askarov and Blackwood would have been nice, but we aren't to that point yet. Maybe we get a better deal at the trade deadline, but no guarantee blackwoods stock would remain that high in a few months.

Also he was a pending UFA coming up, either overpay or lose him. Given we are still a year or two out from a playoff spot, I get it.

i also think that kovalenko and the goalie will be showcased for the rest of the season, and traded as well.

Blackwood has a legit chance to win a cup this year, guys in the locker room can't be too bummed for him either
one thing we all have to remember is he will be a FA at year's end. And if he can get paid starter money, we can't keep him since we are already paying Askarov. So instead of losing him for nothing on a rebuilding year, we get 2 great assets, a high draft pick and another young good prospect. A+ trade.
