Marcus Semien is a leader of men from Berkeley/SF can play all positions practically make it happen

I would love him here too, but there's no spot for him to play currently...

Of course there's a spot. Second.

we just gave LaStella a 3 year contract.

lol as if that would stop us from signing Semien..

I could be wrong, but I don't see it happening. I love Semien.

Semien is one of the best FAs available. Would be a dream to get him. But some team is gonna over pay for his services, and I don't blame them. Signing LaStella is fine and I'm happy they did, but he is just an OK player. Definitely could be depth. He will be the everyday 2nd baseman for us though.

Maybe he would take a bit of a hometown discount? After all he would be joining not just a hometown team but a contender we won 107 last year for crying out loud.

A hometown discount with CA taxes makes zero sense. I think people forget this is a job to them. And when you make millions a year, you can live where you want and fly there when you want.

I'm different and would prefer Seager and plug him at 2nd but it's just me. But I think he's going to get a massive deal tho

Our tax situation really bones our pro sports teams. Doesn't Sacramento think about this?

I find it funny a dude a year ago didn't think Gausman was worth 1 year/$18m and now SWH wants to give him 6 years, $138m... Lol

I find it funny that you still cant admit that offering Gausman a QO was the wrong thing to do. Now granted, the decision to give him that was wrong in a different way than I thought, but wrong nonetheless.

I dont want to give him 6 years 138 either, for the record. Thats too much.

Zero chance he takes a hometown discount. Scott Boras is his agent. He has never had a big contract in his career. He is expecting a huge contract offer from the Rangers and others.

No chance he signs with us unless we offer him a competitive offer....which will be $25M+ a year.

No reason the Giants can't establish themselves as the MLB leader for Japanese and Korean leagues. Mariners got Ichiro. Angels got Shohei. We got Shinjo.

I'd be pumped with Seager as well.

6 seasons. 3 of them he played 135-150 games. The other 3 he played 60-95 games. Like Belt but younger.
