The San Francisco 49ers have made a move to bolster their running back room. ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that the team is signing former Green Bay Packers running back Patrick Taylor Jr. to a one-year deal.

Taylor joins a running back corps that includes Christian McCaffrey, Elijah Mitchell, and Jordan Mason.

The Packers signed Taylor (6-2, 217) as an undrafted free agent out of Memphis in 2020. In 11 game appearances with the Packers last season, he carried the football 32 times for 141 yards and added 11 receptions for 49 yards while playing a career-high 33 percent of the offensive snaps, per Pro Football Reference.

The 25-year-old running back has played 231 special teams snaps over the past two seasons, participating in 40 percent of the special teams snaps in 2023.

Taylor has accumulated 261 rushing yards on 65 attempts and a rushing touchdown in 34 game appearances throughout his three NFL seasons. He has also contributed 14 receptions for 69 yards.
